The Sufficiency of Christ
Text: Colossians 1:1-27
Statement of Purpose: My purpose for this lesson is to show young people that Christ is sufficient in all things.
Introduction: This lesson will show you five different things Christ is Sufficient in.
I.Christ’s Sufficiency in Wisdom and Knowledge.
Colossians 1:9
“For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;”
II.Christ’s Sufficiency in Grace.
Colossians 1:9-11
“For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;
III.Christ’s Sufficiency in Power.
Colossians 1:12-13
“Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
IV.Christ’s Sufficiency Through His Blood.
Colossians 1:14
“In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:”
V.Christ’s Sufficiency in keeping Us.
Colossians 1:26-27
“Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:”
Conclusion: Remember Christ is all sufficient for all of our needs.
