COMMUNION
I. LOOK WITHIN ( Matthew 26: 21-25 )
And as they did eat, he said, Verily I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me. 22And they were exceeding sorrowful, and began every one of them to say unto him, Lord, is it I? 23And he answered and
said, He that dippeth his hand with me in the dish, the same shall betray me. 24 The Son of man goeth as
it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that
man if he had not been born. 25Then Judas, which betrayed him, answered and said, Master, is it I?
He said unto him, Thou hast said.
A. we should always examine ourselves
B. we should always be humble
C. we should always ask Him to forgive us
II. LOOK BACK
A. Look back at how his body was broken for our transgressions.
B. PRAYER: Thank you Lord Jesus for giving of your body so we may be in the body of Christ and counted worthy of His sacrifice on the cross.
C. ( Matt 26: 26 ) And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it
to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.
D. Look back at how He gave His own blood to atone our sins
E. PRAYER: Thank you Lord Jesus for willingly shedding your blood, that the sin debt was paid in full, and for all, who will just believe.
F. ( Matt 26: 27-28 ) And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying,
Drink ye all of it; 28For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
III. LOOK FORWARD
A. to the day we will sup with Him in glory
B. ( Matt 26: 29-30 ) 9But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine,
until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom. 30And when they had sung an hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives.
C. Let us dismiss with the reason for the season on our minds:
1. Jesus took upon Himself the form of a little baby
2. Jesus came to fulfill prophecy
3. Jesus came in the flesh to save us from our sins
4. Jesus came and is coming again
