A Leap into the Dark Matt. 25:31
31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:
32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:
33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.
34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?
39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
Bro. Eaton preached so well this morning about the devil’s plan for your life and God’s plan for your life.
I hope to God that everyone of you here in this youth camp will make a decision to sell out to God if you haven’t already and that you’ll follow God’s plan for your life.
BUT for those of you who still have not surrendered to God… the consequences of rejecting Jesus Christ is a lost eternity without Him.
You will die lost and end up in a devil’s hell.
I preached last night about making a declaration of War and preached that there is a very real enemy of our soul.
That enemy, Satan, is bound and determined to see every last one of you young people end up in his hell.
You see, those of you who do wish to follow God’s plan for your life will spend eternity with God in Heaven when you die.
But our text we read: for those of you who do not surrender to the will and plan of God for your lives… 41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
HOWEVER: God is not willing than any man perish but that all should come to repentance.
AND so… God has placed some things in your life that you’ll have to BATTLE WITH and GET BY them in order to get to HELL.
1. You’ll have to Battle the Church
Just what is the Church? Is it just an organization? A place where people get together once or twice a week?
The Church was started by Jesus Christ. He is the founder.
And the very reason he has set up the church on this earth is to get people ready for Heaven.
It is the plan of God for us to attend CHURCH.
It is the place where we will learn about God
Where we’ll grow in His grace and His Knowledge.
Where we’ll be endued with power from on high.
Heb. 10:23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
Some don’t like going to church because of the conviction they feel.
Also because of hypocrites. Yes I know there are some who go to church that don’t live what they say….
So you’ll have to battle the church.
Pretty soon, you’ll stop going altogether.
2. You’ll battle with the Preacher.
Not talking about the social preacher who’s only out to build up a big church with a lot of people and call himself successful…
Not talking about those who don’t preach against sin…
And preach that there is no such thing as hell
IF ever HELL rejoices, it must be when the preacher stands up and declares that there is no hell.
IF the BIBLE doesn’t teach there is a hell, then it doesn’t teach ANYTHING!
ONE seminary student sat under a professor for a year, and during that time heard things such as:
“This does not belong to the original” and…
“This is not really what this verse means…” and so on..
After the year was over, he walked over one day to the professor’s house and handed him the covers of his Bible and said,
“Professor, I came here with a whole Bible, but after listening to you for a year, this is all I have left.”
Suppose I was to stand here tonight and begin to tear out everything that skeptics have problems with.
-Out would go Genesis.
-and that quail story is too hard to believe….Exodus
-and Job is a myth
-and all those miracles in the N.T.
-Epistle of Peter is not authentic
-we don’t really know who wrote Hebrews…
-book of Revelation is preposterous.
WHAT DO YOU HAVE LEFT????
Talking about Preachers who really care for your soul and love you enough to tell you when you’re doing wrong.
And who will preach that there is a hell, and if you don’t get right with God, you’re going there!
Some of you didn’t respond last night nor this morning in the altar call because you sat there and said…
“That’s not for me.”
“I don’t care what the preacher says.”
“I’m going to have some fun in life.”
“I don’t believe there is a hell.”
I wouldn’t take a chance if I were you! What if the preacher is right? What is the Bible really is true?
If you end up in hell, it will be too late by then. You’ll not have a 2nd chance.
3. The last thing you’ll battle is YOUR CONCIENCE
Proverbs 20:27 The spirit of man [is] the candle of the LORD, searching all the inward parts of the belly.
God has put within you a CONCIENCE.
It is that inner voice within you that tells you when you are doing something wrong.
1 Tim. 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
You’ll eventually get to a point where you just don’t care anymore.
If you take a chance and reject Christ, you are really taking a leap into the dark.
Come to Christ today. Don’t delay any further.
