GOD THE FATHER
Today we honour fathers.
But I contend that I cannot be the father/grandfather my family needs me to be if I don’t let my Creator God be to me the Father He desires to be.
Eph 3:7-21
I have become a servant of this gospel according to the gift of God’s grace that was given me by the working of his power.
.....
Now to the one who can do infinitely more than all we can ask or imagine according to the power that is working among us - to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever! Amen.
I didn’t realise the extent to which Jesus loved to address God as “Father”. And Paul too. It seems to be their favourite way to refer to God.
There must be a reason.
Today more than ever we must remove the lies; we must recover, rediscover, remember and realise the Fatherhood of God.
Many crazy voices are shouting, inspired by the very pit of hell, smelling of the foul stench of the enemy’s breath who would try and obliterate the uniqueness and beauty of the relationship that God desires with His children – that of Father.
While we recognise and worship the God of all completeness and perfection, the Creator of man and woman, male and female; And while we acknowledge that in that completeness that makes up His wonderful and awesome Person there are attributes we may refer to as masculine and feminine, we reject as pagan drivel and idiotic political correctness any attempt to obfuscate God’s self-revealed personality and identity. YHWH never, in any time and in any place, chose to reveal himself as "mother goddess".
That is no less than satanic counterfeit.
The only revelation Adam, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, Joshua, David, Isaiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, Jesus and Paul have ever received is that of God the FATHER.
The only revelation we will recognise as inspired by the Holy Spirit and the Holy Word is the same – God the Father.
- I bow my knees before the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom every family in heaven and on earth receives its name", says Paul.
- I and the Father are one, says Jesus.
- Abba, Father – Daddy, you and I cry with joyful abandon and devotion.
Jam 1:17
Every generous act of giving and every perfect gift is from above and comes down from the FATHER who made the heavenly lights, in whom there is no inconsistency or shifting shadow.
1Jo 3:1
See what kind of love the Father has given us in letting us be called God’s children. And that is what we are!
RECEIVING FATHER’S LOVE
John 10:10
"I came that they might have life, and might have it abundantly."
Romans 6:23
"for the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
The words Jesus spoke, recorded below are so powerful that, we have not yet comprehended what He did or what God did in sending His love in Jesus Christ, but we must except the Word of Jesus and the Covenant of God as a child if we are to realize the full benefits of His provisions.
John 3:16
"For God so loved the World, that He gave His only begotten son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life."
Hebrews 11:6 "Without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and THAT HE IS A REWARDER of those who seek Him."
ILL.: A boy asked his father, "How much do you make in an hour?"
The father got mad and answered roughly, "Don’t bother me." He was tired and irritable after a tough day at work, but the boy insisted. "Please, how much do you make?"
The father said in a bad tone of voice, "six pounds." Then his son asked, "Father can you loan me three pounds?" The father said to him in an angry tone, "I told you not to bother me, shut up and go to your room!"
At bedtime the father was more calmed and felt bad about the way he treated his son. He went upstairs to his son’s room and asked, "Are you asleep?" He gave to the boy the three pounds that he asked for.
The boy thanked his father, put his hand under his pillow, pulled out three pound coins, and said, "I have six pounds father, could I buy one hour of your time."
Unfortunately many people judge our Heavenly Father by their poor memories of their own human father.
But contrast the story against the character of our Heavenly Father:
- He is always there for us, waiting to be with us more eagerly than we to be with Him.
- He delights in fellowship with us.
- He anticipates our every need.
- He runs to meet us long before we even acknowledge His presence.
- Our God is the perfect Father.
- His love is perfect.
- His care is perfect.
THE FATHER OF HOPE
Have you been feeling down, burdened by feelings or impressions of hopelessness? God offers you good news. He is the God of All Hope. Therefore, you can put your hopeless situations into His hands and cast all you burdens upon Him, for He careth for you.
Romans 15:13
Now may the God of all Hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Our God is the God of all Hope because He takes all of :
- our impossibilities and turns them possibilities,
- curses into blessings,
- limitations into potential
- crashed expectations into new reality.
Why? Because He’s our Dad.
Because hope put in Him is not disappointed nor fails.
1st Peter 5:7
Casting all your (cares) anxiety upon Him, because He cares for You.
