What causes anxiety in your life? I have a Word from God for you today. You can live a carefree and a cared for life. Be encouraged today for God’s Word says (1 Peter 5:7 NIV) "Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you."
God desires for you to live a carefree and cared for life and has made a way for that lifestyle to become reality. Jesus showed us how.
JESUS SHOWED US BY EXAMPLE HOW TO LIVE A CAREFREE AND CARED FOR LIFE.
When you look at Jesus life, it becomes very obvious that He knew the Word of God, believed it and lived it. From victoriously defeating temptation to His teaching and preaching; Jesus used God’s Word that He had stored in His heart.
It also is very obvious that Jesus lived a life of prayer. He was constantly praying. When His schedule became full and demanding, He never neglected prayer. He was constantly getting off by Himself in a secluded place to pray. It was in His prayer closet that He refueled.
As we depend on God’s Word and live a life of prayer, our worries will be displaced. The Word strengthens our faith and prayer keeps us fueled up for the journey. The Word instructs us through difficulties and in prayer we release our burdens to God. Be a person of the Word! Be a person of prayer! These are two tools that God has placed within our spiritual toolkit to enable us to live a carefree life.
Listen to this example of a carefree and cared for life. (Mark 4:35-41 NIV) "That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, "Let us go over to the other side." {36} Leaving the crowd behind, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat. There were also other boats with him. {37} A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. {38} Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, "Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?" {39} He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, "Quiet! Be still!" Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. {40} He said to his disciples, "Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?" {41} They were terrified and asked each other, "Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!""
Here we see that the fishermen called to be disciples were anxious because of the storm. I don’t want to minimize the size or severity of the storm. Don’t you imagine that these fishermen had seen their share of storms? But this one must have been the biggest one yet as apparent in their state of panic.
In the midst of the storm, what was Jesus doing? He was living a carefree and cared for life. He was prayed up and full of the Word. The storm did not impact Jesus. Instead, He rose up and took control of the storm.
KNOW THAT YOU ARE CARED FOR BY GOD.
The fisherman turned disciples failed to realize that God was in the boat with them and all He had to do was speak a Word in the midst of their storm. God cared for them and God cares for you today.
God cares for you so much, He sent Jesus to not only to be your example, but also to die for your sins so that you can spend eternity in the care of God the Father. (John 3:16 NIV) ""For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
You may be going through the biggest storm in your life right now or maybe you are heading into the biggest storm of your life tomorrow. Today I don’t minimize the severity of your storm, but I point you to the one that is in the boat with you. Jesus is in the boat with you and He cares for you. Through what He did for you on the cross, He has provided access for you to take your burdens to God and leave them there. (Hebrews 4:16 NIV) "Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need."
Beloved, Live a carefree and cared for life! Stay full of the Word and in constant prayer! Realize that Jesus is in the boat with YOU and He cares for YOU!
