Summary: As with the DiVinci Code the Lost Tomb of Jesus attempts to atttack the death, burial, resurrection and ascension into heaven. But their arguementss won’t hold up to Scripture or Logic.

I Introduction: JERUSALEM (AP) -- Filmmakers and researchers on Monday unveiled two ancient stone boxes they said may have once contained the remains of Jesus and Mary Magdalene, but several scholars derided the claims made in a new documentary as unfounded and contradictory to basic Christian beliefs.

"The Lost Tomb of Jesus," produced by Oscar-winning director James Cameron and scheduled to air March 4 on the Discovery Channel, argues that 10 small caskets discovered in 1980 in a Jerusalem suburb may have held the bones of Jesus and his family.

One of the caskets even bears the title, "Judah, son of Jesus," hinting that Jesus may have had a son, according to the film. (Archaeologists, scholars dispute Jesus documentary, POSTED: 9:27 a.m. EST, February 27, 2007 CNN.com)

A This is just the latest attempt to discredit the basic tenets of Christianity. In this case it is Christ’s death, burial, resurrection and bodily ascension into heaven. As Acts 1:9 states "And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight." Last year the movie "The DaVinci Code" attempted to do the same thing. Before that it was "The Gnostic Gospel" by Elaine Pagels. Before that it was the so called "Swoon Theory" that Jesus didn’t actually die on the cross but was only unconscious and woke up three days later. The list continues back in history to the first century when the elders paid the soldiers to say that Christ’s body had been stolen (Matthew 28:11-15).

B This latest claim is based upon a Jewish custom where the deceased were placed in a tomb and when the body degraded to bones they were transferred to a box called an ossuary and the contents marked. In this case six were inscribed with names that could be translated: Jeshua (Jesus), Mara (Mary), Matthew, Josa (Joseph), Mariamene (Mary Magdalene?), and Judah, son of Jeshua.

C The Philosopher David Hume wrote: "No testimony is sufficient to establish a miracle unless that testimony be of such a kind that its falsehood would be more miraculous than the fact which it endeavors to establish." (Of Miracles) Before we look at the Scriptural evidence then let’s look at the illogical attempts to refute the Biblical account.

1 One theory is that Jesus did not die on the cross but rather lived many years afterward and died of natural causes - This can be further divided in two sub categories: There never was a crucifixion or there was and Jesus survived it.

a Few deny that the crucifixion took place, even the account in the Qur’an which states "That they said (in boast), "We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah";- but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they killed him not:" Surah 4:157 is open to debate as the author Sheikh Ahmed Deedat wrote in "Crucifixion or Cruci-fiction" "It is not my place to judge or to declare which theory is the Reality. All I am trying to emphasize is that since Allah (SWT) has not categorically declared "Jesus was substituted with another man", the factual translation should leave the doors open for the alternate theory or theories." So the Qur’an does not deny Jesus was nailed to the cross only that he did not die there.

b Did Jesus survive the Crucifixion? - Crucifixion was a common method of executing individuals. The earliest historical record of crucifixion was made in 519 BC when Darius I, the Persian King of Kings, crucified 3000 political opponents in Babylon. (Wikipedia) although there is evidence that crucifixion predates this by 200 years. Both Josephus and Seneca write about Roman Crucifixion and it was apparently a common practice. Therefore the soldiers who crucified Christ probably were familiar with the process and knew when someone was dead. Some cite the brief amount of time in which Christ was on the cross as evidence that he was not dead. Even Pilate was surprised that Jesus died so quickly. Mark 15:44 states "And Pilate marvelled if he were already dead: and calling unto him the centurion, he asked him whether he had been any while dead". But Pilate was assured in the following verse that Jesus was indeed dead. "And when he knew it of the centurion, he gave the body to Joseph" (Mark 15:45).

i "To confirm that a victim was dead, the Romans inflicted a spear wound through the right side of the heart. When pierced, a sudden flow of blood and water came (from) Jesus’ body . ....In this case, a spear through the right side of the heart would allow the pleural fluid (fluid built up in the lungs) to escape first, followed by a flow of blood from the wall of the right ventricle.(Edwards) The important fact is that the medical evidence supports that Jesus did die a physical death." ("Medical Aspects of the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ" Compiled by David Terasaka, M.D.)

ii Some argue that when the heart stops the blood stops flowing so blood flowing from Christ’s side is evidence that he was alive. Granted the heart does stop but gravity will still enable a person to bleed after they are dead.

iii It should also be noted that the crucifixion was not the beginning of the execution of Christ but rather the culmination of a process.

1 Matthew 26:57 states he was beaten during his various trials,

2 John 19:1-3 states that He was whipped, beaten and had a crown of sharp thorns placed on his head.

3 In this weakened state he was forced to carry the cross, or at least the cross bar, which by some estimates weighed 100 lbs. to the actual site of the crucifixion.

4 The need for Simon the Cyrenian (Mark 15:21) to assist him in carrying the cross further attests to his weakened condition.

5 Nails were then placed in his hands and feet to add to his pain and increase his loss of blood.

6 After that he was elevated on the cross and endured the additional problems associated with crucifixion.

? Suffication due to the pressure on the lungs

? Bleeding caused by the constant reopening of the wounds as you rise up on them to relieve the pressure on the lungs and breath.

? Pain

? Pressure on the heart

D The next question skeptics will ask is, three days later did he rise from the dead or wake from a coma?

1 It was quite unlikely that he was only in a coma. Hanging in the manner of a crucified person compressed the lungs and made breathing difficult, so the person would push themselves up to breath and the resulting pain on the legs and arms from the nails would force them to lower themselves and stop breathing again. There was a lot of motion on the cross. If Jesus was in a coma he would also have stopped breathing because he couldn’t raise himself and since he was on the cross for a long time after he was presumed dead he obviously wasn’t moving. Even if he went into a coma after he said ”it is finished” his failure to move would have quickly resulted in suffocation and death.

.

2 But for the sake of argument, let’s assume that he was in a coma when he was lowered from the cross. Apparently no one noticed that he was still breathing and that the body was still warm. Later, Christ is in a tomb, probably still bleeding from the whipping, the nails and the lance which pierced his side yet somehow he awakes, removes the burial cloth that he was wrapped in, rolls the large stone that blocked the entrance of the tomb and overcomes the Roman guards who were watching to insure no one stole the body. He does this after not eating or drinking since the night before his crucifixion and bleeding from at least 4 major wounds for several days. That in it self would be a major miracle.

E Perhaps he was helped. Perhaps the disciples who fled when he was arrested and crucified gathered up enough courage to overcome the Roman guards, roll away the stone, rescue Jesus and then made up an elaborate story of the resurrection to create a new religion.

1 History attests to the fact that all the Apostles were tortured and all but John executed for their beliefs.

2 Not one ever decided to save himself and tell the authorities that they were lying and that Jesus was alive.

3 You may recall that the priests paid the guards to say that Jesus’ body had been stolen, one would assume if they could find a living Jesus they would have exposed him as a fraud (Matthew 28:11-15).

4 Now we are being told that these bones prove that he lived many years afterward had a family and continued to use his real name and avoided the authorities. A lot of men in prison have various other names, A.K.A. “also know as” you know how foolish it is for a condemned criminal, hiding from the authorities, to continue to use your real name. Christ was no fool.

F The next question is did Jesus ascend into heaven bodily or did he live many years, get married and have a family as the skeptics state?

1 The so called evidence for Jesus being married is rather flimsy as the character Robert Langdon stated in the DaVinci Code ""If Jesus were not married, at least one of the Bible’s gospel’s would have mentioned it and offered some explanation for His unnatural state of bachelorhood." (P. 235) This Argumentum ad ignorantiam basically states that something must be true, simply because it hasn’t been proved false.

2 Granted no gospel states that Jesus was single. This is an argument from silence using this logic we should assume that he was guilty of blaspheme because he never denied the charges.

3 Granted, most Jewish men were married and the Bible names the wives of several of the major male characters. But there are examples in history of those who were single, for example the first century Jewish sect known as the Essenes emphasized celibacy (Josephus, Antiquities 18.1.5.21; Jewish War 2.8.2.121-122; Philo, Hypothetica 11.14-18). This was done to emphasize their commitment to God. Christ says the same thing in Matthew 19:12 and Paul in I Corinthians 7:1-8. So there would be no reason to have to further explain why Christ was single.

4 Early Church writers (eg. Justin Martyr and Clement of Alexandria) stress Christ’s celibacy.

5 This latest attempt to show he was married is based on one ossuary which is inscribed “Mariamene” which they then say is Mary Magdalene and is the wife of the one who they suppose is Jesus because their mitochondrial DNA shows they are not related. Does that mean they are married? Highly unlikely. It should also be noted that mitochondrial DNA testing is not as accurate as DNA testing which wasn’t done as the DNA was degraded.

G This latest finding of the supposed bones of Jesus is not really a recent finding, the tomb was discovered at a construction site near Jerusalem in 1980. The BBC first reported the story in 1996 and any connection with the Jesus of the Bible was proven false then. The inscriptions were dated to the Herodian period around 1 BC to 1 AD, 33 years before the time of Christ’s crucifixion and the inscription (which is not carved but scratched into the stone) which is supposed to read Jesus is difficult to read and even if it did say Jesus that was a common name in the time of Christ.

1 You can imagine how a defense attorney would react is the only evidence to convict a man named John of a crime was a piece of paper saying “John did it” and even that was hard to read. Add to that John was only 3 or 4 years old when the crime took place. That is the level of “evidence” this documentary is presenting in their argument that these bones belong to Christ.

2 In an attempt to substantiate the claim that the probability of these six names belonging to anyone but the family of Jesus one author gives this analysis to show the statistical improbability:

“Imagine a football stadium filled with 50,000 people—men, women, and children. This is an average estimate of the population of ancient Jerusalem in the time of Jesus. If we ask all the males named Jesus to stand, based on the frequency of that name, we would expect 2,796 to rise. If we then ask all those with a father named Joseph to remain standing there would only be 351 left. If we further reduce this group by asking only those with a mother named Mary to remain standing we would get down to only 173. If we then ask only those of this group with a brother named Joseph only 23 are left. And finally, only of these the ones with a brother named James, there’s less than a 3/4 chance that even 1 person remains standing.” (Some Initial Thoughts on the Talpiot Tomb, Filed under: Tabor’s Blog — James Tabor)

Sounds impressive but the statistician left out one important element. Mary, Joseph and Jesus lived in Galilee, not Jerusalem where the tomb was found. Why would they have a tomb so many miles from home?

3 There are other experts that say the probability of all these names being in the same tomb is not great. Tal Ham, one of Israel’s foremost experts on Jewish and early Christian history, has collected all the names that appear on ossuaries, on inscriptions on papyri and other written sources, from about the 2nd century BC to about the 2nd century AD. She concluded:

"Mary is the most common name for women. Joseph is the second most common name for men, after Simon. Jesus is also one of those very typical names. So I would say the chance that this is the cave tomb of Jesus of Nazareth and his family is not very likely." (THE TOMB THAT DARE NOT SPEAK IT’S NAME, The London Sunday Times March 31, 1996)

4 Finally there is the question of the supposed son of Jesus, Judah. Every major religion where the founder had a son, or close relative, there is a struggle for power as to who will lead after the founder dies. Neither history nor the Bible records any such struggle, in fact this “son” isn’t even mentioned till now.

II Why do men want to discredit the message of Christ’s death, burial, resurrection and ascension?

A Christ’s death –

1 Isaiah 53:5-6 "But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all."

a Without Christ’s death we have to work out our own salvation, which is impossible but men would rather say they got to heaven on their own merit then rely on Christ.

2 Gal 3:13-14 "Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: 14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith." It is hard to comprehend that God took upon Himself all the punishment I justly deserve.

B Christ’s burial - It gives credence to the reality of Christ’s death, you don’t bury a living person. Christ prophesied his burial in Matthew 12:40 "For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth." Further his burial enhances the power of the resurrection. Guards watched over the tomb, a large stone covered the entrance, these facts give greater credence to the premise that no one stole the body.

1 There are some that discredit Christ’s burial by saying that Friday afternoon to Sunday morning isn’t even 48 hours how can it be three days and three nights. There are at least two ways of explaining this.

a The Scripture account never stated that the crucifixion was on a Friday. It only states that the next day was a Sabbath (Matthew 15:42) Scripture also states that the crucifixion happened the day before the Passover (John 19:14) and the Passover is considered a Sabbath so the Crucifixion could have happened on a Thursday before the Passover on Friday and as Saturday was also a Sabbath the Resurrection occur on the day after the Sabbath (Matthew 28:1)

b Another explanation which agrees with our tradition of Good Friday is that in Jewish reckoning if something began Friday afternoon and ended after sundown (Saturday by Jewish standards) they would say it took 2 days, Friday and Saturday. We see that in the reign of kings in the Old Testament if they became king at the end of one year and reigned only till the first month of the next year they may have reined a total of 40 days but since it occurred in two different years the Bible will say he reigned 2 years.

C The Resurrection – It shows that Christ conquered death, both physical and spiritual so we can be justified and live a new life.

1 Romans 6:9-11 “Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him. 10 For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. 11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

2 Romans 4:24-25 "But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; 25 Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification."

3 Romans 6:4 "Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life."

D The Ascension - John 16:7 "Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you." The Ascension made Pentecost possible.

III Lets look now at some of the reasons why men seek to destroy the Biblical account of Christ’s death, burial, resurrection and ascension by analyzing I Corinthians 1:17-25:

A Paul says in I Corinthians 1:17 “For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.” He came to preach the gospel and to do so without clever speech so that the power of the cross not be overshadowed by clever words.

1 So often today preachers are trained to use power point presentations, to wow the audience with clever words and humorous illustrations.

2 Paul was a good speaker and demonstrated his ability to speak effectively to both Jews and gentiles.

a His many teachings in the synagogues demonstrated his knowledge of the Torah.

b His sermon on Mars hill in Acts 17:22-34 showed his knowledge of Greek myth and philosophy.

c Despite this, Paul knew that the power of the Gospel was not in how eloquently it is expressed but rather in the message itself.

d Illustration: I remember a story of a preacher walking through town with a member of the church. They spot a man obviously drunk and the member of the church says "Isn’t that one of your converts" the preacher responded "It must be one of mine, it obviously isn’t one of God’s". The gospel is not something to be sold on some infomercial like some new way to make a fortune in real estate. The gospel is something that works on its own power.

B I Corinthians 1:18a "For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness;" - Sometimes when we are sick, the very sight of food, no matter how good it may taste, sickens us. It is not the food itself that does this it is the disease that causes us to view that which can make us feel better in disgust. So it is with the gospel message to those that are not saved. They ask if Christ was able to rise from the dead why did he not just save himself from crucifixion? They can’t comprehend that "He descended not from the Cross, not because He could not, but because He would not." (St. John Chrysostom, Homily IV I Corinthians)

1 Jeremiah 6:10 “To whom shall I speak, and give warning, that they may hear? behold, their ear is uncircumcised, and they cannot hearken: behold, the word of the LORD is unto them a reproach; they have no delight in it.”

a Here God states that Israel listens like the gentiles not only do they not understand God’s words, they hate it. In like manner so is the message of Christ’s death on the cross to the unbeliever. It makes no sense so they still look for the bones of Christ. Like the leaders of all the other religions who have graves that their followers visit and honor. They cannot understand or accept an empty tomb. But our Savior’s tomb is empty because he has conquered death.

2 To give us a proper perspective we have to remember that the cross was an instrument of torture and death. Lets contemporize the symbolism:

a If you wear a cross on your neck imagine the reaction if instead it was a hangman’s noose or a tiny electric chair.

b Lets change some of the lyrics of The Old Rugged Cross: “I will cling to that old gas chamber and exchange it some day for a crown”

3 Think about the image a song like “Washed in the Blood” brings. Remember the movie “Carrie” where her classmates pour a bucket of blood on her? Horrifying, but to the unbeliever hearing this hymn, I can imagine it brings a similar image.

4 Yes, the message may sound foolish. Naaman (II Kings 5:1-ff) felt foolish washing in the Jordan seven times to cure his leprosy but still that was what God used to heal him. Who am I to question God?

C I Corinthians 1:18b "but unto us which are saved it is the power of God."

1 There was a time in my life when the Bible made no sense at all, but now every time I read I find new insight and guidance, the power of God. What happened to make the difference? I became a believer.

D I Corinthians 1:19 "For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent." Paul quotes Isaiah 29:14 there God is speaking about men who speak in Theological terms but their heart is far from Him. How did he destroy man’s wisdom? How did He show it to be unprofitable?

1 Illustration: I saw a movie the other night on TV “the Elephant Man” there was a scene where a surgeon was operating and he wore no gloves no mask people walked in and out of the operating room with no regard to cleanliness. Why? Because the idea of germs was unknown in fact when Dr. Lister first suggested that surgeons wash and antiseptic used, he was ridiculed even though the mortality rate in hospitals was outrageous. Yet if you read Leviticus you can see that God set forth strict rules to eliminate contagious disease and maintain a clean environment. God’s wisdom finally prevailed and surgeries are now preformed in as antiseptic environment as possible.

E I Corinthians 1:20a “Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world?”

1 We tend to be impressed with credentials. Unfortunately many church goers will see this documentary and because it is on television believe it over the Biblical account.

2 So called “great” people, with numerous degrees have published theories that were later proved false but for a while what they said was accepted as scientific fact.

a Down’s Syndrome was named after Dr. John L. H. Down but was originally named Mongoloid because he believed that the reason for the disease was that the fetus was not able to evolve to a Caucasian and stopped at being a Mongolian.

b Phrenology was a science that believed that the shape and bumps on the skull could determine intelligence and character.

c These ideas seem foolish now but not 100 years ago.

3 Where is true wisdom found?

a I Corinthians 3:18-21a “Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise. 19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness. 20 And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain. 21 Therefore let no man glory in men…”

i The truly wise man recognizes just how little he knows

ii The truly wise man seeks his wisdom from God

iii The truly wise man is humble

iv The truly wise man does not get his authority from other men but from God.

F I Corinthians 1:20b “hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?”

1 We have seen many examples of archeologists and authors using their own wisdom to deny the truth. More unfortunate is that their readers and followers grasp onto these theories and accept them as truth and in doing so deny the Word of God.

G I Corinthians 1:21 “For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.”

1 Romans 1: 25 “Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.”

2 In 1996 the BBC broadcast a similar documentary on this finding and the London Sunday Times reported then:

“The caskets - ossuaries in which the bones of the dead were deposited in 1st-century Israel - have lain on a warehouse shelf in a backwater of Jerusalem for 16 years. Israeli archeologists saw no significance in them and the tomb they were found in was obliterated.” (THE TOMB THAT DARE NOT SPEAK IT’S NAME, The London Sunday Times March 31, 1996

3 At the location of this tomb an apartment building was constructed. Apparently few saw any significance in the find. As insignificant as the tomb is it is now a documentary. Why? Man prefers a lie, no matter how foolish, over the truth of the gospel,

H I Corinthians 1:22a For the Jews require a sign,…

1 Ironically Jesus brought many signs, healing the sick, raising the dead, feeding thousands with a few loafs of bread and some fish. Unfortunately they were not the signs the Jews wanted.

a They wanted a powerful leader who would free them from Roman rule.

b They sought a king that would restore them to the glory and power they had during the time of Solomon.

I I Corinthians 1:22b …and the Greeks seek after wisdom:

1 Christ also brought wisdom, Luke is said to be written to a Greek audience and the numerous parables Christ spoke have a lot of wisdom in them, but it was not enough. When Paul spoke in Acts 17 to the greeks about the unknown god he seems to have their interest until he says that Jesus rose from the dead

a Acts 17:32 And when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked: and others said, We will hear thee again of this matter.

2 Why did this cause them to lose interest? We believe what we can see or experience as Christ said to Thomas:

a John 20:29 “Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.”

3 God asks us to go beyond experiential knowledge and make a step of faith.

a Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

J I Corinthians 1:23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;

1 As it was in the first century so it is now, the crucifixion makes no sense to the unbeliever. So documentaries that have very little to support their premise air on national television because people would rather believe that then believe the truth.

K I Corinthians 1:24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

1 If you want real power go to the source.

a Matthew 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

2 Too often we seek wisdom in the wrong place.

a Job 28:12-13 But where shall wisdom be found? and where is the place of understanding? 13 Man knoweth not the price thereof; neither is it found in the land of the living.

L I Corinthians 1:25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

Illustration: Scientists came to a conclusion that through science they could accomplish anything. Because of this they decided they didn’t need God. One scientist was elected to be their spokesperson to tell God he wasn’t necessary anymore. The scientist told God “Mankind doesn’t need you any more, with science we can accomplish anything.” To prove his point he challenged God to a contest “I can create life just like you did” God quietly listened to this man not saying a word. The scientist then proceeded to pick up some dirt to create a man. God finally spoke and said “No, no, get your own dirt”.

IV Conclusion: Ultimately why is the debate so important? Paul states it well in I Corinthians 15:12-19 "Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead? 13 But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen: 14 And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain. 15 Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not. 16 For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised: 17 And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins. 18 Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished. 19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.”

A Paul is saying that if Christ did not rise from the dead Christianity is a farce he might as well go back to making tents and sacrificing animals.

B You see the bones of Jesus deny the Crucifixion also for the bones show no evidence of Crucifixion.

1 I remember a story years ago in Biblical Archeological Review showing the bones of a crucified man. He actually had one nail still in him. There was obvious damage to the wrists and feet, this tomb doesn’t have such evidence.

2 No crucifixion no death, no death no payment for my sins, no payment, I’m headed for hell.

C One last mention of the documentary. It fails to mention that the same warehouse that holds this ossuary has a second that is also inscribed “Jesus, son of Joseph” (The London Sunday Times March 31, 1996) So which one is the true one which is a fake? Is it possible that both are fake or at least refer to another man names Jesus? To mention the second would discredit their report so they don’t mention it. Ironically this documentary is done by James Cameron the man that made the movie “Titanic” a story of a supposed unsinkable ship that sunk on its maiden voyage. That boat couldn’t hold water and this documentary won’t either.
