Introduction
· Today we celebrate the 2nd Anniversary of Spirit Life Christian Church.
· In two years, God has brought us a long way. From a church in the home to this facility about 1-1/2 years ago, to a possible newer larger facility in the near future to further spread the Word of God.
· Today marks a new day in history. A day where past struggles seems so far away. Where are eyes have been opened to His glory, His ways, His timing. Seeing lives changed, marriages restored, God’s healing power manifest through this ministry and church growth.
· Throughout this year, we have grown closer to God and have gotten “Get Back to the Basics of the Word of God”.
· Our vision is clear, the plan is secure, and Jesus is building this house to touch our lost community, build our families and give glory to His name.
· Today we celebrate a God Who Is More Than Enough.
· Let us open our bible to Psalm 91…
(NKJV) Psalm 91 1 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.” 3 Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler And from the perilous pestilence. 4 He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. 5 You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day, 6 Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday. 7 A thousand may fall at your side, And ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you. 8 Only with your eyes shall you look, And see the reward of the wicked. 9 Because you have made the LORD, who is my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place, 10 No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; 11 For He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways. 12 In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone. 13 You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot. 14 “Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name. 15 He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. 16 With long life I will satisfy him, And show him My salvation.”
(NKJV) Genesis 17 1 When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to Abram and said to him, “I am Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless. 2 And I will make My covenant between Me and you, and will multiply you exceedingly.” 3 Then Abram fell on his face, and God talked with him, saying: 4 “As for Me, behold, My covenant is with you, and you shall be a father of many nations. 5 No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham; for I have made you a father of many nations. 6 I will make you exceedingly fruitful; and I will make nations of you, and kings shall come from you.
· El Shaddai is one of seven covenant names through which God revealed Himself to Israel.
· In Hebrew, El Shaddai means “the All Sufficient One” or “the God who is more than enough.”
· The KJV translated El Shaddai as “Almighty God.”
· This morning, El Shaddai is the God who is more than enough. The old and new testaments speak of His greatness.
Lets look to the Word for a few examples of El Shaddai and take these principles and apply them to our life.
Old Testament Examples
· After 430 years of bondage, Moses led the children of Israel out of Egypt. Moses stretched out his rod and parted the Red Sea – We serve a God who is more than enough showed up.
· Has God ever made a way for you when there seemed to be no way?
· For our ministry, God opened and closed doors, poured His favor with man to get this facility and He continues to direct this church to new levels in Christ.
· Joshua and his leaders prayed for God’s help. They were fighting a crucial battle against their enemies and it was getting dark. If nighttime would fall, they might lose the battle.
(NKJV) Joshua 10 13 So the sun stood still, And the moon stopped, Till the people had revenge Upon their enemies. Is this not written in the Book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and did not hasten to go down for about a whole day. 14 And there has been no day like that, before it or after it, that the LORD heeded the voice of a man; for the LORD fought for Israel.
· God stopped the whole universe because a man of God prayed. God is not a respecter of persons. What He has done for others, He can do for you.
· Have you ever been put into a circumstance that it seemed like God stopped the World to hear from you and answer your prayer just in time?
· When Diana and I received the call to step out and begin this ministry, God provide (3) confirmations to ensure that I knew it was Him. He is El Shaddai… The God who is more then enough. As if God stopped time for me to hear from Him and get His plan of action put into place.
New Testament Examples
(NKJV) John 6 9 “There is a lad here who has five barley loaves and two small fish, but what are they among so many?” 10 Then Jesus said, “Make the people sit down.” Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand. 11 And Jesus took the loaves, and when He had given thanks He distributed them to the disciples, and the disciples to those sitting down; and likewise of the fish, as much as they wanted. 12 So when they were filled, He said to His disciples, “Gather up the fragments that remain, so that nothing is lost.”
· When Jesus shows up on the scene, He is more than enough.
· When you were hungry, God shows up and provides more than enough. He is the sufficient One.
· Jesus is looking for Christians to share what they have (finances, love, talent, etc)… When you place it into His hands, the supernatural becomes more than enough.
· As we put our faith, trust, finances into the hands of Jesus, He has blessed this church to be debt free and more then enough in the bank to bless others.
The death of Lazarus is a great example that El Shaddai was there. The All-Sufficient One – Jesus shows up after Lazarus is dead for three days and calls him out of his grave. The God who is more than enough shows up and Lazarus is alive.
· What may be dead in your life can be resurrected by the God who is more than enough. Put it into the hands of the Almighty God.
· When people spoke against starting this church and nay sayers showed up to kill what God has birthed, the God who is more than enough came in like a flood and remove and replaced those that tried to kill off our dreams. He resurrected our spirit man and we continued to prosper in the ways of God.
The blind beggar named Bartimaeus
Mark 10 47 And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”
· When the blind man called out to Jesus in faith, Jesus, who is more than enough gave Bartimaeus his eyesight back.
· Perhaps you have lost your vision or hunger for Jesus, just call on His name in faith and He will answer.
· El Shaddai provides more healing then you need. He provides more grace and salvation then you need. He is more than enough.
· When the devil tried to have us lose focus of God’s plan, Diana and I got in faith, spoke the Word and God made our pathway clear. God brought us more wisdom, strength, insight, dreams, and visions that propelled us to where we are today.
Revelation 1 18 I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.
· Jesus conquers death and the grave. He is more than enough. He is truly the All Sufficient One, the Almighty God.
· We need to never sell short the Victory we have in Jesus.
· He is not the God of just barely enough…He is more than enough.
· In two years of ministry, God has proven to us in all facets of life on earth and in the spirit realm, He is more than enough.
