PREGNANT WITH PROMISE

(Rom 8:5) For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
(Rom 8:6) For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
(Rom 8:7) Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
(Rom 8:8) So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
(Rom 8:9) But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
(Rom 8:10) And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
(Rom 8:11) But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
(Rom 8:12) Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.
(Rom 8:13) For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
V.11) SAYS SPIRIT OF GOD DWELLS IN YOU
V.5) SAYS BE MINDFUL OF IT.
V.13) SAYS TO MORTIFY THE DEEDS OF THE BODY THAT IT MAY LIVE.
When you are without God you are in the flesh and heir of bondage and death, but when you accept Jesus Christ and are saved the spirit of Christ dwells within you giving you life and making you pregnant with promise.
I thought of Mary the Mother of Jesus. The bible says that the Angel of the Lord came to her and said she would be given a son by the Holy Ghost and he would save his people from his sins.
Also her cousin Elisabeth was given a child in her old age and he would be a forerunner for Christ. They were both conceived upon in the midst of impossibilities. Mary was a virgin, Elisabeth was to old to have children yet both were filled with a promise.
How their lives must have been changed. Before they were empty inside and void but now they were filled with life and possibilities.
How careful and reverent they must have been knowing the covenant and the answer to sins of mankind dwelt within them . Surely they must not have ate the same , they must have walked much more careful and mindful, for they did not want to disturb the life and the promise within them.
They could have done like some today and simply aborted the life within them. After all it must have been inconvenient and they did not ask for this.
No longer could they sleep the same, they must have been conscious of the fact that people did not look at them the same, no doubt they found them selves separated from others and possibly ignored or abandoned.
Maybe Mary and Joseph had plans for the future that were now altered by the burden of a child. Children are always a responsibility but these were children given and ordained by God what greater of a responsibility could their be than this.
WHAT A BURDEN! BUT THANK GOD THEY CHOSE LIFE!!!!!!!
They chose to decrease so the promise could increase.
To allow their hopes and dreams, their plans and priority changed so that by the promise the world might be changed.
The very things that the world overlooked and saw as inconvenient and a burden delivered them from their burdens.
Because they chose life and nurtured and followed the will of God I have a savior and am redeemed from sin.
What about you today have you chosen life?
Have you nurtured the promise within or have you starved it and abused it to fit you hellish lifestyle?
Are you ashamed of the life within?
Are you mindful of the life or promise within? Has it changed the way you walk, talk, and live?
You have a promise within you if you have accepted Christ as your savior. If you will allow him to live promise will follow and the possibilities are endless.
Mary first nurtured the child and cared for it but when it matured it saved her very soul from hell and fire. Choose life today.
Maybe you do not know Christ today, and you are tired of the emptiness you feel within.
Choose life and experience the joy of being PREGNANT WITH PROMISE.
