Topic- What can we learn about Jesus Christ on Valentine’s Day
Subtopic- What is Jesus Christ to us on Valentine’s Day?
On Wednesday which will be February 14th, many of us will be celebrating this holiday that is called Valentine’s Day. On this day, many of you will be giving and exchanging Valentine’s cards, Valentine’s candies, Valentine’s teddy bears, or a dozens of red roses, and white roses with your wives, husbands, boyfriend, or girlfriend to express your love for them. Some of you might be wearing the color red, or taking your love ones out to dinner or getting married or renewing your wedding vows as you celebrate this day called Valentine’s Day on February 14th.
But yet there are some of you who may not be married or in a relationship with that special someone. You may not have a wife, husband, boyfriend, or a girlfriend to celebrate with on Valentine’s Day, but yet you can still can have joy on that day as well Yes, you may not have a boyfriend, or a girlfriend, but just know this one important fact, you are truly loved by God. You may be divorced, separated, or widowed, but just know this one thing, you are still truly loved by God. You may not have any friends to hang out with, or have someone to talk to on Valentines Day, but despite of it all, you are still loved by God.
You see, the devil wants to stress you out just because you may not have a boyfriend, or girlfriend for Valentines Day. The devil wants to stress you out because you may not be married, or that you are divorced, or separated , or widowed on Valentine‘s Day. Yes, the devil wants to make you fell less than a blessed man or woman of God just because you may not have a mate, friend or a companion in your life right now for Valentines Day. But the devil is a lie! Despite of your marital status as a single man ,or as a single woman, you are still a blessed man, or blessed woman of God. It does not matter how old or young you are, if you are still single, God still loves you and you are still a blessed man or woman of God. It does not matter what race, ethnic, or nationality you may of, if you are still single, God still loves you, and you are still a blessed man or woman of God. It does not matter how much money or education you have, if you are still single, God still loves you and you are still a blessed man and woman of God. It does not matter where you live, what church you go to, or what denomination you are part of, if you are still single, God still loves you, and you are still a blessed man or woman of God!!!!! You see, God doesn’t just love those who are married, but he loves the single person as well. You see, God does not just bless those who are married, but he bless those who are single as well.
Yes, you may not have a boyfriend or girlfriend, you may not have husband or wife for Valentine‘s Day…. But just know this one thing you are still special unto the Lord. And you are special unto the Lord because you are a child of God.
You are special because you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation. A peculiar person unto God, who should show forth praises of Him who has called you out of darkness into the marvelous light.
You are special because you are a saint of God.
You are special because you are a new creature in Christ.
You are special because you are a friend of Jesus Christ.
You are special because you have been blessed with every spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.
You are special because you have fellowship with the God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
You are special because you are an heir, and joint-heir with Christ.
You are special because you are victorious in Christ Jesus.
You are special because you are more than a conqueror in Lord Jesus Christ.
You are special because in Christ Jesus, you have peace with God.
You are special because in Christ Jesus, you are made righteous and holy
You are special because in Christ Jesus, you are justified by faith.
You are special because in Christ Jesus, you are free from condemnation.
You are special because in Christ Jesus, you have been delivered from the kingdom of Satan and brought into the kingdom of God.
You are special because you have been indwelled, baptized, sealed, and filled with the Holy Spirit.
You are special because you are a workmanship of God.
You are special because your sins has been forgiven by God, you have salvation in Christ, and you have eternal life.
Last but not least, you are special because in Christ Jesus, you are blessed in the city, and blessed in the field, you are blessed going in and blessed going out. You are the head and not the tail, you are above, and not beneath.
Yes, as a single man or a single woman of God, you are still special unto the Lord.
But yet a question is being asked, What is Jesus Christ to us on Valentine’s Day? What can we learn about Jesus Christ on Valentine’s Day?
Well, we can learn a whole lot about Jesus Christ on Valentine’s Day, and in this message, we are going to use each letter in the word Valentine‘s, and learn something powerful about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and what He means to us on Valentine’s Day. So Let look at each letter in Valentine‘s, and let’s discover what we can learn about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
V= As for the letter “V” Jesus Christ is Victorious. Jesus is victorious, for He never lost a fight, He never lost a battle. He never lost a case in the court room, not has He lost a patient in an operating room., for He has all power in His hands. Jesus Christ says this in Revelation 1:18 that “I am he that liveth, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.”
And if we trust and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, we too can have the victory over our problems, over our adverse situation, over our disappointments, etc.
I Corinthians 15:57 says, “But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
I John 5:4-5 says, “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith, Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God.
A= As for the letter “A”, Jesus is many thing to us. First of all, as for the letter “A”,
1. According to Revelations 1:8, Jesus is Almighty.
2. According to Revelation 22:13, Jesus Christ is Alpha and Omega.
3. According to Hebrews 5:9, Jesus Christ is the Author of our Eternal Salvation
4. According to Hebrews 12:2, Jesus Christ is the Author and Finisher of our Faith.
L= As for the letter “L”, Jesus is many thing to us. As for the letter “L”,
1. According to the John 1:29, Jesus is the Lamb of God.
2.According to the John 8:12, Jesus is the Light of the world.
3. According to Revelation 5:5, Jesus is the Lion of the Tribe of Judah.
4. According to Acts 10:36, Jesus is the Lord of all
5. According to I Corinthians 2:8, Jesus is the Lord of Glory
6. According to I Timothy 6:15, Jesus is the Lord of Lords
E= As for the letter “E”, this means Everlasting. Jesus Christ has promised us Everlasting if we believe on Him. For he has said in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but shall have everlasting life.”
N= As for the letter “N”, this means “No one”. That is, there is No One like the Lord Jesus Christ. The Lord says in Isaiah 45:22, “Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth, for I am God, and there is none else.”
T= As for the letter “T”, Jesus is many thing to us. As for the letter “T”,
1. According to St. John 1:9, Jesus is the True Light that should lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
2.According to St. John 14:6, Jesus Christ is the Truth
3. According to St. John 15:1, Jesus Christ is the True Vine
I= As for the letter “I”, acccording to Matthew 1:23, Jesus is Immanuel, which means, “God with us.”
N= As for the letter “N”, the letter “N” stands, “Never”. That is, according to Hebrews 13:5, Jesus Christ has said that He will NEVER, leave you nor forsake you.”
E= As for the letter “E”, the letter “E” stands for Eternal Life. We can find Eternal life in Jesus Christ. I John 5:11-13 says, “And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life, and He that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.”
S= As for the letter “S”,
1. According to Luke 2:11, Jesus is the Savior that was born into this world in Bethelehem.
2. According to Luke 1:35, Jesus is the Son of God.
And last, but not least, when we look at the word DAY on Valentine’s Day, the word DAY will remind us that every day is a day of rejoicing in the Lord , for Psalm 118:24 says, “This is the day that the Lord has made, Let us rejocie and be glad in it.”
Because Jesus is Victorius, we ought to rejoice and be glad in that
Because Jesus is Almighty, the Alpha and Omega, we ought to rejoice and be glad in that
Because Jesus is the Lord of Lord, the Light of the World, the Lamb of God, we ought to rejoice, and be glad in that.
Because Jesus Christ grants us Everlasting life when we believe on Him, we ought to rejoice and be glad in that
Because there is No One like the Lord Jesus Christ, we ought to rejoice, and be glad in that
Because Jesus is our True Vine, we ought to rejoice and be glad in that
Because Jesus is Immanuel, God with us, we ought to rejoice and be glad in that
Because Jesus will never leave nor forsake us, we ought to rejoice and be glad in that
Because Jesus is our Eternal God, we ought to rejoice, and be glad in it.
Because Jesus is the Son of God, the Savior of the world, we ought to rejoice, and be glad in that
Conclusion:
Yes, on February 14th, people all over the world will be expressing their love to their loves on that special day. But yet no matter what you may give your love one on February 14th, just remember that God gave the greatest Valentine’s gift to the world and that gift is Jesus Christ our Lord. For the bible has said in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but shall have everlasting life.
Romans 5:8 says, “But God demonstrated to us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us.”
I John 4: 9-11, “In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought to love one another.”
