People are constantly asking, “What’s so special about Jesus?”
Why is He the only way that someone can know God?
In all of religion there is no one question asked more than this one.
Christians have been accused of being narrow minded because of our firm stand, that there is no other way to get to God!
The first point to make is that no individual or religious group can lay claim of Jesus being the only way.
That claim can only be contributed to Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God.
Christians are merely relating His claim that has been recorded in one of the greatest record books known to man.
God’s inherit word, the Holy Scriptures, The Bible.
Jesus said that: "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6
Jesus also said to those that believe not in him that: “Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins." John 8:24
The apostle Peter echoed these words, “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." Acts 4:12
Paul Proclaimed: “For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus”, 1 Timothy 2:5
The whole New Testament lays claim to a unified testimony that no one can know God the Father except through the person of Jesus Christ.
To be able to understand shy this is so, one must go back to the beginning.
The beginning of the great creation that god the all mighty performed over 6,000 years ago.
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:1
Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth." Genesis 1:26
Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day. Genesis 1:31
Man and woman were place in a perfect environment, with all they’re needs taken care of.
They were given only on restriction.
Unfortunately they broke that restriction.
The results were a fall in for different areas.
1. The relationship between God and man was now broken, as can be seen from Adam and Eve’s attempt to hid from God.
And they heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden. Genesis 3:8
2. The relationship between man and fellow man was
severed, with Adam and Eve arguing and trying to pass
the blame to someone else.
Then the man said, "The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate." Genesis 3:12
And the LORD God said to the woman, "What is this you have done?" The woman said, "The serpent deceived me, and I ate." Genesis 3:13
3. The bond between man and nature also was broken, with the ground producing thorns and thistles and the animal world no longer being benevolent.
Then to Adam He said, "Because you have heeded the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree of which I commanded you, saying, ’You shall not eat of it’: "Cursed is the ground for your sake; In toil you shall eat of it All the ays of your life. 18Both thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you, And you shall eat the herb of the field. Genesis 3:17,18
It is not so that woman brought sin unto the world but man was also at fault if not more.
It took both of them to eat themselves out of house and home.
4. Man also became separated from himself, with a feeling of emptiness and incompleteness, something he had not experienced before the fall.
However God promised to make all these things right and gave His word that He would send a Savior, Messiah, who would deliver the entire creation from the bondage of sin.
The Old Testament kept repeating this promise over and over.
That someday this person would comet into the world and set mankind free.
God’s Word did indeed come true; God became a man in the person of Jesus Christ.
Read: John 1:14-29 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. 15John bore witness of Him and cried out, saying, "This was He of whom I said, ’He who comes after me is preferred before me, for He was before me.’ " 16And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace.
17For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. 18No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.
19Now this is the testimony of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, "Who are you?" 20He confessed, and did not deny, but confessed, "I am not the Christ." 21And they asked him, "What then? Are you Elijah?" He said, "I am not." "Are you the Prophet?" And he answered, "No." 22Then they said to him, "Who are you, that we may give an answer to those who sent us? What do you say about yourself?" 23He said: "I am
’The voice of one crying in the wilderness: "Make straight the way of the LORD," ’as the prophet Isaiah said." 24Now those who were sent were from the Pharisees. 25And they asked him, saying, "Why then do you baptize if you are not the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet?" 26John answered them, saying, "I baptize with water, but there stands One among you whom you do not know.
27It is He who, coming after me, is preferred before me, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to loose." 28These things were done in Bethabara beyond the Jordan, where John was baptizing.
29The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, "Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!
Jesus did come, paid the price and took our place in order that we could enjoy again a right relationship with God.
Then Jesus answered and said to them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner. 20For the Father loves the Son, and shows Him all things that He Himself does; and He will show Him greater works than these, that you may marvel. 21For as the Father raises the dead and gives life to them, even so the Son gives life to whom He will. John 5:19 through 21
If mankind could have reached God any other way, then Jesus would not have had to die. His death illustrates the fact that there is not other way. Therefore, no other religion ore religious leader can bring someone to the knowledge of the one true God.
But the death of Jesus Christ is not the end and this is why Christians prefer him to all other religious worshipping.
He has risen!!!
Yes he is alive today.
He is not in the grave…
The tomb is empty…
He’s in the hearts of believers today through the power of the Holy Spirit.
He can come into you heart today
