TOPIC- ABUNDANCE INSPITE OF AUSTERITY
LESSON 2- PRINCIPLES OF ABUNDANCE 2
TEXT- 2 COR 9:10, 2 SAM 24:23-24, GEN 26
The blessings of God will cover our lives when we sow throughout all areas of our lives. If we sow in the church, home, work, with friends and strangers we will reap in all those areas. Wherever the waters of God are flowing fro us, we should sow. If we spend our days giving, we will spend our days reaping.
A ) THE SEED SOWN MULTIPLIES – LUKE 6:38, JOHN 6:9-14
There is a common saying “a bird at hand is worth two in the bush”, but in spiritual law, a seed released is worth hundreds yet to be received. The power in your seed to multiply is activated by its release. Your seed is what you sow, your faith is why it multiplies. Our seed multiplies at varying levels, but the lowest level the Word promises is thirty fold – Matthew 13:8. What conditions can affect the level of multiplication of our seed?
I) Attitude – 2 Cor 9:7, Acts 5:1-10
II) Obedience to God’s word – Isaiah 1:19
III) Relationship with God – Psalm 84:11
B) WHERE YOU SOW IS WHERE YOU REAP- ISAIAH 32:20
If we give in only one or two areas, then we will reap in one or two areas – Eccl 11:1-2, 6. The farmer who sows by all the streams on his land will reap by all the streams and not just the main river. The person, who sows in every situation, will continuously reap in all situation – 2 COR 9:8. All the grace of God abounds towards the generous giver so that they will have all they need in every area of life.
C) THE MEASURE AND QUALITY YOU SOW IS WHAT YOU REAP - MAL 1:8, 13; MATT 26:7-13, LUKE 6:38, 2 COR 9:6
When we sow low quality seed, we reap low quality harvest. Sow the best and you will reap the best. Even Jesus brought a teaching from the offering of the people- Luke 21:1-3. The way to ensure that our offerings are acceptable to God is to give exactly what He calls us to give. if you give an abundance of what you have, then you receive an abundance of what God has - Eph 3:20, Phil 4:19. The level of abundance to be measured out to you is in your hands. The measure of our offering defines the quantity of our offering; though it has less to do with total amount but with ratio.
D) THE SEED MUST BE LEFT ALONE FOR HARVEST TO OCCUR – MATT 6:1-2, GAL 6:9, PSALM 37:7
There is an entire season of life between sowing and reaping. People faint in prayer, in doing good works and in faith. Lam 3:25. When we are tired of giving , we cease to provide proper climate for cultivating and nourishing the seed we have sown. The best climate to encourage growth from the seed we have sown is the climate of giving. Continuity in giving creates anticipation and expectation – Eccl 11:7.
