PRESSING TOWARD THE MARK IN 2011

Phil.3;14I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

15Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.

(1) Faith like Abraham in 211

Hebrews 11:6But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Faith that will go ------ Abraham went out

Faith that will sacrifice----- Abraham was willing

Faith that will over come-- 1John 5:4For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

(2) Life of separation 2011

1st Cor .9:27But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

Consecrated -------- Rom. 12:1I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

Holiness-------- 1st Pet. 1;15But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;

Dead to the world Gal.3;20Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one.

Rom 6;1What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?

(3) Humble like Christ 2011

When reviled ----revile not again

Isaiah53;7He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.

Phil 2;5Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

When bidden to a feast -------Luke14;10But when thou art bidden, go and sit down in the lowest room; that when he that bade thee cometh, he may say unto thee, Friend, go up higher: then shalt thou have worship in the presence of them that sit at meat with thee.

Younger submit yourself to the elder 1st Pet 5;5Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisted the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.

(4) Let us press for wisdom like Solomon 2011

Wisdom comes by the Spirit of God----1st Cor 12:8For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;

Paul speaks of the spirit of wisdom ---Eph. 1;17That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:

James tell where it comes from-----James 1;5If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

Wisdom exalted a nation

Wisdom is business-- making a move for God

(5) Boldness like Peter in 2011

Acts 4;8Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel,

Acts 4;13Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.
