PREPARING THE WAY OF THE LORD

Luke 3 ;4 As it is written in the book of the words of Esaias the prophet, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.

Isaiah 40 ; 3The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.

4Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain:

5And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

Most every one spends time preparing for something of material nature.

Not many spend time preparing to meet the Lord.

We should be more concern about what is going to happen in the future.

1. The way of love

1st John 4: 7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.

8He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

9In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.

10Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

The strangest thing ----how God could love us.

The strongest force in the world

The scarcest item in the market place.

2. The way of loyalty

John 17 :4I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.

Perfect obedience to Gods Word.

Purity of purpose in life and work

Totally pleasing to the fathers divine will

3. The way of learning

Romans 15 : 4 For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.

Eph 4:20 But ye have not so learned Christ;

All save have Scripture enlightens

Self -restraint should be practiced by all saved people.

Service is rendered to those in darkness.

4. The way of life

John 10 :28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

Our physical life--- duration of the flesh

Our Spiritual life --- Gods life imparted--eternal

Our mental life --utilized in helping others.

5. The way of light.

John 8 :12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

John 9 :5As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.

See the deeds we practice

See the doctrine we preach

See the diligence we produce

6. The way of the law.

Gal 6:2 Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

Principle that governs the believer

Practice of Grace after all we are brethren

Policy given to help us bear one another’s burdens.

7. The way for the lost.

John 14 :1Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

2In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

4And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.

5Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?

. 6Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Delivered for the slavery of sin

Determine you destination make it Heaven

Delights the soul with joy unspeakable
