Preparing For God's Coming Judgments And Preaching The Gospel Series
Contributed by Shaila Touchton on Jan 22, 2025 (message contributor)
Summary: In the face of God's coming judgments, we are commissioned to preach the Gospel to all nations.
"As the heavens are My throne and the earth is My footstool..." - Isaiah 66:1
In a world plagued by sin and rebellion, the Bible warns of God's impending judgments. As believers, it is our duty to sound the alarm, warning others of the dangers of rejecting God's love and mercy. Simultaneously, we must preach the Gospel, sharing the Good News of salvation through Jesus Christ.
The Urgency of God's Coming Judgments
The Bible speaks of a day when God will judge the world for its sins. This day is near, and its arrival is certain (2 Peter 3:10). The signs of the times – natural disasters, wars, and moral decay – all point to the imminence of God's judgments.
"The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead, he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance." - 2 Peter 3:9
The Call to Preach the Gospel
In the face of God's coming judgments, we are commissioned to preach the Gospel to all nations. The Gospel is the power of God for salvation, and it is our responsibility to share it with a world in desperate need (Romans 1:16).
"For the Scripture says, 'Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.' How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?" - Romans 10:13-14
A Message of Hope and Warning
As we sound the alarm and preach the Gospel, our message must be one of both hope and warning. We must warn people of the dangers of rejecting God's love and mercy, while also sharing the hope of salvation through Jesus Christ.
"God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him." - John 3:17
A Call to Action
In light of God's coming judgments and the urgency of preaching the Gospel, we must take action. We must:
Pray: Pray for the salvation of those around us, and for the boldness to share the Gospel.
Witness: Share the Gospel with those who do not know Jesus Christ.
Live: Live a life that reflects the love and mercy of God.
"The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field." - Matthew 9:37-38
Conclusion
As believers, we have a critical role to play in warning others of God's coming judgments and preaching the Gospel. May we be faithful to this task, sharing the hope of salvation through Jesus Christ with a world in desperate need.
