Praying For Ukraine

Summary: I was invited to participate in a PRAYER GATHERING FOR UKRAINE on 2/27/22. People from various Slavic East European countries as well as others gathered for prayer. This was a very significant time to address the war in the heavenlies regarding Ukraine.
UKRAINE - a wake up call to the world
WAR IS HELL - War may not actually be Hell, but it sure looks and feels like Hell to those who are going through it. War is hellish, deadly and destructive with much pain and suffering. In war no one really wins. Everyone pays a very high price. The carnage, waste and destruction are always enormous. Ukraine may be the epicenter, but the ripple effects are being felt around the world.
WAR IS DEVILISH - What is going on behind the scenes? The fight is never against flesh and blood enemies. “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms” (Ephesians 6:12 NIV). People are not the real enemy—Satan is! Evil always masquerades in some human form, through some earthly personality.
People are merely the pawns in Satan’s hand. Satan, as the “god of this world,” uses people to get to people. Jesus clearly identified Satan as the source when He looked directly at Peter and said, “Get behind me Satan” (Matthew 16:23). Jesus exposed the source of the problem—Satan, the thief whose sole purpose is to steal, kill and destroy.
GOD IS GREATER - But Jesus didn’t stop there, He went on to identify Himself as our solution by offering Life and that more abundantly (John 10:10). And now because of His life in us, we are equipped to live life. God has provided us with spiritual weapons to face every conflict through our Lord Jesus Christ.
SPIRITUAL WARFARE - “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds” (2 Corinthians 10:4). King David discovered this when he was just a young man. As David stood before that great giant Goliath, he boldly declared that the Lord saves not with sword and spear, for the battle is the Lord’s. David defeated Goliath with only the small smooth stone of faith. David saw the strong man Goliath come crashing down by the mighty power of God.
Today, because of the indwelling Christ we can too. Therefore, we must use these spiritual weapons to resist the devil and overcome his evil works—in this case the war in Ukraine. In James 5:15 we are told that, “the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up.” We live in a broken sin-sick world that needs to be healed. We should pray in faith that our Lord God Almighty would heal, raise up and restore the country of Ukraine!
PRAYING FOR UKRAINE - “Oh God, have mercy on Ukraine, Russia, and the entire world which is spinning out of control. Cause every stronghold to be cast down and all evil principalities and powers to be bound. May this war be an occasion for many people to turn to You as their Lord and Savior. King Jesus, rule and overrule in the lives of men. Bring peace, order and restoration to the war torn country of Ukraine.” Daniel 4:28-37
