Plan for: Thanksgiving | Advent | Christmas
To explore the power, pattern, and priority of prayer as taught by Jesus in Luke 11:1-13, emphasizing that prayer is a heartfelt conversation with God, not just a list of requests.
Good morning, church family! Today, we are diving into a topic that is near and dear to all our hearts – prayer. As we explore Luke 11:1-13, we'll be focusing on three key aspects: The Power of Prayer, The Pattern of Prayer, and The Priority of Prayer. It's a tall order, but I believe we'll find some incredible nuggets of truth in this passage.
In the words of the great Christian, Elisabeth Elliot, “Prayer lays hold of God's plan and becomes the link between his will and its accomplishment on earth. Amazing things happen, and we are given the privilege of being the channels of the Holy Spirit's prayer.” Elisabeth reminds us that prayer isn't just a wish list or a laundry list of requests. It's a deep, heartfelt conversation with the Creator of the universe who loves us more than we can ever comprehend.
Let's look at the Scripture passage together. [Read Luke 11:1-13.]
