Genesis 15:2-3
But Abram said, “Sovereign Lord, what can you give me since I remain childless and the one who will inherit[a] my estate is Eliezer of Damascus?” And Abram said, “You have given me no children; so a servant in my household will be my heir.”
Genesis 21:1-2
Now the Lord was gracious to Sarah as he had said, and the Lord did for Sarah what he had promised. Sarah became pregnant and bore a son to Abraham…”
Sometimes, we feel lost and abandoned; Abraham had so much in life but he walked away from it all to follow the voice of the Lord. It was never possessions that mattered though but a legacy - to carry on his name. Abraham prayed - God answered. This is who God is - this is the one whom we serve. He responds to us.
