Summary: We need this knowledge about our God from whom we expect answers for our prayers, miracles and much more; we would persevere, pursue and keep asking continuously when we know that God listens to our pleas and will answers our prayer. Amen.

Not leaving until I receive!

1 Thessalonians 5:16, 17“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing…”

It was hectic and peak time of the day after the morning assembly for prayer at our School, four year old deaf and dumb kid Krishna of our Abide Angel Home watched the other kids come to me and collect chalk pieces to write. He then walked up boldly to me and gazed at me with an expression that I still cannot forget – it was full of expectations, longing and determination, so much so that ‘look’ said, ‘I’m not leaving until I receive!’ I gave him a small piece of chalk and patted his back, the little brat turned his face and refused to take it. I had a tremendous urge to laugh out loud and grab him in my arms; I resisted the urge and asked what he wants, again he turned and gave me that ‘look’ which captured my heart. Though he could not talk that ‘look’ said it all: give me please, I want it now, don’t say no and much more. Little Krishna was not ready to compromise, he wanted not a broken piece of chalk but a full, tall one! Did you get that? The little fellow managed to touch my heart and I gave him an unbroken, complete chalk piece. He shot back a look at me that said, ‘thank you’ and off he went satisfied. I wish all us could be as determined, focused and consistent in our ‘asking’ like little Krishna!

We can be this firm and determined when we actually know the heart of the person from whom we expect a blessing, reward, answer, gift or reply. Little Krishna has been with us for long and he knows me too well – he exactly knows how to get my attention. Likewise, we need this knowledge about our God from whom we expect answers for our prayers, miracles and much more; we would persevere, pursue and keep asking continuously when we know that God listens to our pleas and will answers our prayer. Amen.

I like the way Apostle Paul tells us, “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing..” (1 Thessalonians 5:16,17) We cannot miss the confidence and trust that Apostle Paul has in his God! He tells us, ‘I know my Lord!’ This is awesome! Let these words encourage you today! Arise from whatever situation you may be right now and call unto the Lord who hears your cries! This is a prophetic message coming to you today to wipe your tears and strengthen you to call unto Him without ceasing. Don’t give up!

I thank God for taking me to the right place to listen to a servant of God talk about his prayer life that revolutionized my life. I further bought all his books and studied the art of long prayer, hard prayer, intercessory prayer, fasting prayer, intimate prayer with God and also all-night prayer. I started implementing them in my life, I would keep an alarm clock with me and set my prayer time and I would stick to it aggressively. I also started writing down my prayer points and pray over it dutifully. I watched God answer each one of them wonderfully! Some were immediate, some delayed, some yet to be answered; however, I have studied the art of praying. When things turn really terrible and when I know I can’t take one step further, I would get into my prayer room, lock it up and give God one of that ‘look’ little Krishna gave me and would ask Him, “Lord, did I not obey you and leave my job and come to serve you, now why is this sorrow in my life?” During such times, I have experienced His touch in a special way!
