INTRODUCTION:

Favour is a divine advantage that causes a person to stand out and be preferred above others. It is not merely luck or coincidence—it is God intentionally tilting the scale in your direction. Favour opens doors that effort alone cannot open and grants access that human qualifications cannot secure. When God’s favour is upon you, protocols are suspended and limitations are bypassed for your sake.

However, divine favour is not random. God delights in showing favour, but it often flows towards those who are rightly positioned. Positioning for favour means aligning your attitude, heart, actions, and obedience with God’s principles. It requires a deliberate walk of faith, humility, and righteousness that attracts divine attention and goodwill from men.

Throughout Scripture, we see people who received unusual favour because they were rightly positioned—spiritually, emotionally, and relationally. Whether it was Joseph in prison, Ruth in Boaz’s field, or Esther in the palace, their stories teach us that favour does not just happen—it responds to positioning.

1. WHAT IS DIVINE FAVOUR?

Divine favour is God’s supernatural endorsement upon a person.

a) It is undeserved but purposeful (Romans 9:15–16):

Favour is not earned but granted by God to fulfil His divine purpose.

b) It brings accelerated promotion (Genesis 39:21–23):

Joseph was favoured even in prison, which led to his elevation.

c) It grants access to people and places beyond your reach (Esther 5:1–3):

Esther gained favour with the king and saved a nation.

d) It silences opposition (Psalm 41:11):

God’s favour is a shield that silences your enemies.

Biblical Example: Jesus grew in favour with God and man (Luke 2:52), showing that favour can increase with right alignment.

Divine favour is the spiritual oil that makes your destiny journey smooth and your efforts fruitful.

2. KEYS TO POSITIONING YOURSELF FOR FAVOUR

There are attitudes and actions that attract divine favour.

a) Walk in humility and obedience (Proverbs 3:34):

God resists the proud but gives grace and favour to the humble.

b) Be diligent in your responsibilities (Proverbs 22:29):

Diligence brings you before kings and sets you apart for honour.

c) Live with integrity and godly character (Psalm 84:11):

The Lord withholds no good thing from those who walk uprightly.

d) Be kind and honourable to others (Proverbs 3:3–4):

Mercy and truth attract favour with God and man.

Biblical Example: Ruth positioned herself through humility, hard work, and loyalty, and she attracted Boaz’s favour (Ruth 2:1–17).

Favour finds those who are faithfully doing the right thing, even when no one is watching.

3. WHERE AND HOW TO FIND FAVOUR

Favour often finds expression through men and divine circumstances.

a) In unfamiliar places (Genesis 41:14):

Joseph was brought from prison to stand before Pharaoh.

b) Through divine connections (1 Samuel 16:22):

David was favoured by Saul through a divine introduction.

c) At the place of assignment (Luke 5:1–6):

Peter’s obedience led him to a place of favour and abundance.

d) In times of adversity (Psalm 102:13):

God uses difficult seasons to show favour to His people.

Biblical Example: Esther found favour in the palace because she was at the right place, at the right time, with the right posture (Esther 2:15–17).

Divine favour locates those who walk in divine timing, occupy divine places, and obey divine instructions.

4. RESULTS OF DIVINE FAVOUR

When you are favoured, your life will reflect undeniable proof.

a) Speed and acceleration (Amos 9:13):

What takes others years will take you months or weeks.

b) Divine preservation (Genesis 6:8):

Noah found favour and was preserved in judgment.

c) Uncommon lifting and honour (Esther 2:17):

The crown will bypass others and rest on your head.

d) Breakthroughs in hard places (Exodus 3:21):

Israel left Egypt with wealth because of divine favour.

Biblical Example: Daniel was preferred above others because an excellent spirit and divine favour were upon him (Daniel 6:3).

Favour does not leave you the same—it elevates, distinguishes, and multiplies your results.

CONCLUSION:

God’s favour is still available today and can turn any life around in an instant. However, it is not automatic—it flows to those who are rightly positioned in heart, attitude, and obedience. If you want to walk in divine favour, choose to walk humbly, faithfully, and righteously before God.

Divine favour is not just about being liked—it is about being marked by heaven for distinction and purpose. As you align your life with the principles of God and respond to divine opportunities with faith and diligence, favour will rest upon you and change your story forever.

PRAYER POINTS:

1. Father, thank You for making Your favour available to me.

2. Lord, help me to walk in humility and obedience that attracts favour.

3. Father, position me in the right place at the right time.
