Pleasing God

Summary: It the desire of every true believer to please the Lord. Our Lord Jesus has shown us an example on how to please God in John 8:29 " for I do always those things that please him."
Hebrews 11:5-6 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
A sincere lover of God will seek to please Him at all times. The motive of his or her actions would be aimed at pleasing the Lord. As the Lord Jesus Christ, every believer should be able to say that " for I do always those things that please him." But today, a great deal of our time is spent on efforts to please others- our spouse, employers, relatives, friends and society for our anticipated personal gains; and without considering how our actions affect our relationship with God. Our selfish desire to gain human approval must give way to the need to do that which is acceptable and pleasing to God.
In our opening text, Enoch's testimony was that he pleased God. May we have the same testimony in Jesus name. Because Enoch pleased God, he did not see death for "God took him" What a great reward that was!. He had continued his walk with God into eternity.
God, is indeed a rewarder of those that diligently seek Him.
How can a man please God?
Let me share with you few verses on what we can do to please God.
1. Have Faith in God.
Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
2. Be Spiritually Minded.
Romans 8:6-8 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
3. Be Obedient to His Son, Jesus Christ.
Matthew 17:5 While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.
4.Lift Your Voice in Praise to Him.
Psalms 69:30 I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving. 69:31 This also shall please the LORD better than an ox or bullock that hath horns and hoofs.
5. Preach to the Saving of the Lost
1 Corinthians 1:21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
6.Keep His Commandments
1 John 3:22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.
7.To Do Good and Share with Others
Hebrews 13:16 But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
8.Children Must Obey Their Parent
Colossians 3:20 Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well-pleasing unto the Lord.
Brethren, we are not to focus on the life that pleases ourselves only without bothering about what God thinks. If we do that we may never find the satisfaction of fulfilment until we live a life pleasing to God. You are created in the image of God, and He has the manual of your life in His hand, therefore live a life pleasing to God .Doing so will ensure the fulfilment of your destiny and be able to fulfill the plan and purpose of God for you life.
God bless you.
