Lesson 1: Blessings may invite jealousy.

When Isaac began to prosper and accumulate possessions, the Philistines became envious of him. Jealousy can turn friends into enemies and lead to destructive behavior.

Lesson 2: Jealousy is a product of insecurity.

Insecure individuals often compare themselves to others and base their self-worth on possessions. This wrong appraisal of self-value can breed jealousy.

Lesson 3: God uses conflicts to test our priorities and character.

Lesson 6: It is easy to grab the well than to dig the well.

Isaac faced opposition from the herdsmen of Gerar who claimed the water as their own. This reminds us that some people would rather take what others have worked for instead of putting in the effort themselves.

Lesson 7: Unjust accusations and opposition may lead you to a better well.

Isaac faced accusations and quarrels over wells, but he didn't stop digging. Sometimes, unjust opposition can lead us to even better opportunities.

Lesson 8: After tests and trials, God prepares a big place for those who persevere.

Isaac moved from one well to another, facing tests and trials along the way. Eventually, he reached a breakthrough and named the well Rehoboth, meaning "open space." This teaches us that after perseverance, God prepares a place of abundance for us.

Lesson 9: Even former enemies can realize their mistakes at vindication time.

Isaac's former enemies, Abimelech and his companions, came to him and acknowledged that the Lord was with him. Sometimes, our enemies can recognize their errors when they see the blessings of God upon us.

Lesson 10: No opposition can stop the flow of God's blessings.

Isaac's servants found water in a well they had dug, and Isaac named it Shebah, meaning "seven." This signifies that the Lord will restore our blessings sevenfold, regardless of any opposition we face.
