To show that our perfection is only thru the finished work of CHRIST on the cross.

Hebrews 7:11 (Amplified Bible)

7:11 Now if perfection (a perfect fellowship between God and the worshiper) had been attainable by the Levitical priesthood—for under it the people were given the Law—why was it further necessary that there should arise another and different kind of Priest, one after the order of Melchizedek, rather than one appointed after the order and rank of Aaron?

V. THESIS:

I am perfect in everything thru CHRIST's Grace. GOD has put together, provided me everything I need to please Him. I give the LORD JESUS CHRIST the most pleasure by living out His plans for me on the earth.

VIII. MAIN BODY:

A. Perfection is not attainable under the Law

"Now if perfection (a perfect fellowship between God and the worshiper) had been attainable by the Levitical priesthood—for under it the people were given the Law"

Perfection means completion, or fulfilment of the plan and purpose of God. GOD's Plan was brought to completion and fulfilment only in the LORD JESUS CHRIST.

Hebrews 7:18-19 (Amplified Bible)

7:18 So a previous physical regulation and command is cancelled because of its weakness and ineffectiveness and uselessness—

7:19 For the Law never made anything perfect—but instead a better hope is introduced through which we [now] come close to God.
