Perfect Idea for a new year

Text: Gen. 2: 19 - 20, Gen. 4: 20 - 24

Aim: Every year people make resolutions but it is a pity that before the end of the first quarter of a new year many would have given up on their pursuit. But this year you must embark on a rewardable journey, you must lay your hands on projects that will be rewardable and profitable

Intro: Without gainsaying, it must be noted that “ideas rule the world”, you do not need a huge amount of money to be successful in life, the number one thing you need to do is to conceive a great idea.

A man with a huge amount of money without an idea will spend the money lavishly and still clamour for more the next day. Luke 15:13

Outline

1. Created in God’s image. Gen. 1:26. We are created in God’s image, part of this image is the ability to create. For instance, Adam named all the animals in the garden of Eden. Gen. 2: 19 - 20. Every man has in him a great potential, ability to create.

After the race of man began to expand, other people created other things from where God stopped. Gen. 4: 20 - 24

Jabal - Father of those who dwell in tent

Jubal - Father of all who play harp and flute

Tubal Cain - instructor of every craftsman in bronze and iron

At creation, God has embedded in everything He created all other things that will be beneficial to human race, for example, clothes were made from vibre, paper from wood, cassava can be processed into various ways

2. The power of idea. A druggist in 1888, Asa Griggs Candler met John Stith Pemberton and was intrigued by a sweet, carbonated drink he had developed. Candler bought the Coca-Cola recipe from Pemberton, for an amount rumored to be $2,300. The drink was derived from brewed coca leaves, as well as caffeine, carbonated water, and sugar. In 1892, he founded the Coca-Cola Company. The following year, he trademarked the brand and distributed the first dividends to the company's shareholders. The power of idea cannot be underestimated

i. Nobody has a money problem but an idea problem - what to do

Things to know about idea

- Think positively

- Think great

- Think big

- Erase impossibility from your dictionary Lk. 1:37, Lk. 18:27

- Be consistent. It might take time before your product is known but do not relax.

3. Source of divine idea. This can be in two forms, natural process and supernatural process.

i. Natural Process:

a. Identify a need: One man’s problem is another man’s opportunity: housing, transportation, communication, feeding etc.

b. Simplify an existing product

- Somebody manufacture a microphone with cable, another person manufactures wireless, another person button type microphone, another person microphone cover etc.

c. Adapt another idea. You could bring the idea of a food joint in London to your area, just do some modifications

d. Create a need. People use water for entertainment in those days but now we use soft drink

- Give people free gift, then you gain it back sometimes later

e. Exposure. You learn new things when you travel, read and ask questions

ii. Supernatural process. With ideas backed by the power of God, we shall rule the world. We receive information from the invisible realm, voice of the Holy Spirit - dream, trans, voice etc.

a. Prayer - sow a prayer, reap an idea

b. Meditation on the word of God. Gen. 24:63a. Ten minute of Godly thinking can be worth more than ten hours of misdirected efforts.

c. Giving. I Kg. 3: 4b - 5a. Solomon gave an usual sacrifice unto God, he was blessed in his ruling, Jacob also promised to give God a tenth of everything. Gen. 28:22, Gen. 31:11- 13.
