"People That Don’t Get It"

Mark 8:4-20

I. How would you know if you don’t "get it" spiritually?

A.. 3 signs of people that don’t get it

1. They ignore the warning signs of God

2. They initiate worry

3. They become insensitive to the wonders of God

II. What the Bible says about it.

Then His disciples answered Him, “How can one satisfy these people with bread here in the wilderness?” Mark 8:4...

III. They ignore the warning signs of God

Now the disciples had forgotten to take bread, and they did not have more than one loaf with them in the boat. 15Then He charged them, saying, “Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod.” Mark 8:14, 15

And they reasoned among themselves, saying, “It is because we have no bread.” Mark 8:16

IV. They initiate worry

But Jesus, being aware of it, said to them, “Why do you reason because you have no bread? Do you not yet perceive nor understand? Is your heart still hardened? Mark 8:17

When I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many baskets full of fragments did you take up?” They said to Him, “Twelve.” Mark8:19

“Also, when I broke the seven for the four thousand, how many large baskets full of fragments did you take up?”And they said, “Seven.” MarK 8:20

V. They grow insensitive to the wonders of God

A. Remember a time when God met a physical need of yours

B. Remember a time when God met a spiritual need of

yours

C. Remember a time when God met a financial need of

yours

D. Remember a time when a friend of yours was led to

Christ!

V. Conclusion

A. God doesn’t want us to:

1. Make more promises

2. ’Try’ harder

B. He wants us to:
