Summary: David testifies the power of God, that God can do all things especially for His children.

I. The ALL-KNOWING God

1. In what we do

*verses 1 & 3, (He SEES what we do every SECOND)

"O Lord, you have searched me and you know me. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways."

2. In what we think

*verse 2, (nothing is HIDDEN from HOLY God)

"You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar.'

3. In what we say

*verses 4-6, (He HEARS even the whisper of our HEARTS)

"Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O Lord. You hem me in—behind and before; you have laid your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain."

II. The ALL-PRESENT God

1. He is in HEAVEN

*verses 7-8a, (we can't HIDE from Him even if He is in HEAVEN)

"Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens you are there."

2. He is in HELL

*verse 8b, (even in SHEOL, the SOVEREIGN God is there)

"If I make my bed in the depths, you are there."

3. He is in HERE and there

*verses 9-12, (God is PRESENT in all PLACES)

"If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast. If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,” even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you."

III. The ALL-POWERFUL God

1. The POWER of God

*verse 13, (He CREATED everything we have when we are CONCEIVED)

"For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb."

2. The PRAISES to God

*verse 14, (the PRAISES to God's creative POWER)

"I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well."

Conclusion: We don't know what the future holds for us. But we can trust our omniscient, omnipresent and omnipotent God who is already in the future and who holds our future.
