This sermon aims to explore the concept of human temptation, the importance of self-control, and the necessity of living in a manner that is pleasing to God.
Good morning, friends! I'm thrilled to see each of your smiling faces here today. We're going to dive into a pretty meaty topic - The Temptation of the Flesh, The Power of Self-Control, and Living in God's Sight. It's a subject that hits home for most of us, because let's face it, we're all human. And being human means we deal with temptations and struggles. But hallelujah, there's hope and strength in our Lord!
Our main scripture today comes from 1 Peter 2:11, which says, "Dear friends, I urge you, as foreigners and exiles, to abstain from sinful desires, which wage war against your soul." That's a pretty powerful instruction, isn't it? It's like Peter is saying, "Hey, you're not of this world, so don't let worldly desires control you."
Father God, we come before you today, recognizing our human frailness. We know that we often fall into temptations, and we ask for your guidance and strength to resist them. Lord, fill us with your Holy Spirit, so we might better control our desires and live in a way that is pleasing to you. We ask this in Jesus' name, Amen.
The first point we're going to delve into is the Temptation of the Flesh ... View this full PRO sermon free with PRO
