TO SHARE THE GOOD NEWS
MATTHEW 28:18 – 20
“Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
This is known as the Great Commission.
PRAYER FOR THE HOLY SPIRIT & UNDERSTANDING
Last night – To hear from the Holy Spirit
God’s 3 Wills for you:
1. For Salvation
2. To preach the Good News (The Great Commission)
3. To receive Gifts to equip you for your calling in life.
Breakdown of the verbs in the scripture:
1. GO
Not wait, or put up a building and let them come.
This isn’t the field of dreams.
We’re not to put up a sign that says, “FREE SALVATION – inquire within.”
GO – means to look them up, track them down. Go where they are.
2. TEACH (in Mark it says PREACH)
Means to go out and TELL THEM how to be saved.
3. verb is BAPTIZE
“And then, “…Teach them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you.”
Four Basic verbs;
1. Go
2. Preach (or teach)
3. Baptize
4. Teach them to obey what Jesus Commands
Isaiah 52:7
“How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, "Your God reigns!”
Romans 10:14 - 15
“14 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in?
And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard?
And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?
15 And how can they preach unless they are sent?
As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”
WITNESSING
Beautiful Feet?
God’s will is for all to be saved.
And He has chosen us to sow seeds.
He has chosen us to share the Good News with all who will listen.
GO
We GO anytime we move.
To the store, to the park, to work…
Everybody has a soul.
Everybody NEEDS Jesus Christ.
It’s tough when you first start;
Are you a Christian?
Have you been converted?
Are you saved?
My line is “Have you ever accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord?”
We need to be soul-conscious.
Always sharing what the Lord means to you.
When we GO in our everyday lives, we need to be thinking of others souls.
Appearance is important!
Not suit & tie, but who you are and where you are!
Do not go into a ritzy restaurant in a dirty t-shirt & jeans preaching about the Kingdom of heaven.
And in the same token, do not enter a salvage yard in a suit and tie telling the employees they need Jesus Christ.
We need to be REAL!
Paul said “I am all things to all people…”
He worked in LOVE & he worked NOT TO OFFEND those he was trying to reach with the Gospel.
No love for the lost
Incapable of effectively witnessing
How can you tell people God loves you so much He sent His only Son, if YOU don’t love the lost?
You are a reflection of Christ’s love.
How you treat the lost is how the lost think God will treat them.
So they stay away because they have never experienced God’s love!
John 3:16 - 18
“16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.”
The lost are already condemned.
PREACH (or TEACH)
You should memorize a few important scriptures so that when they come up during your conversation about salvation, you can quickly find them in the scriptures.
I used to have a case of Bibles in my trunk that I would hand out to those I witnessed to.
I put my card in each on, and had important scripture references for salvation on the inside cover for them.
