Summary: Forget the former things. God’s ready to do a new thing in you.
God love to do new things
Pioneers are those who try something new
Lewis and Clark- Pioneers
Then come settlers- They take this new found thing and settle it
Teach about it- form rules-cultivate- law and order
Then comes the ruling citizens-
Established- they hate change
The resent the people that bring change- THE PIONEERS
Someone discovers it- someone settles it-
then someone wants to keep it like it is
We see this in Church and in our homes
Washed up singers-
go from a jet- to single engine plane
Because- of what they’ve done in the past
“Well if they hadn’t cheated me, I’d be popular”- We he did, you’re not- move on
What make the clap of a wave- The old wave slapping against the new wave
Is 43:15
What’s the biggest obstacle of God doing something new-
What he’s done in the past
When God does something good, the church just wants him to repeat it
“Azuza” “Brownsville” “Toronto”
I don’t want to copy those moves of God
I want my own move- the One God wants for us
Why do we want to copy a method- stick to a formula-
WE don’t’ wanna listen to Jesus
People say, “WERE GONNA BE ANOTHER BROWNSVILLE”
God doesn’t want another Brownsville- He’s had a Brownsville
HE WANTS A FREEDOM FELLOWSHIP
You not doing a new thing, if you’re doing what God has already done in someone else
What God is saying, is more important the what He has said- Not a heretic
THE WOMAN IN ADULTERY- they knew what the word said
Were they willing to listen to what God was saying
Matthew 4:1-4- Not “proceeded” PROCEEDS
If we hear what God is saying- We can bring change to the point of REVIVAL
God speaks to His kids- Or he’s a really bad dad
GOD WILL NEVER BE IN CONTRAST TO HIS WRITTEN WORD
If were moving Forward- If we WANT TO DO A NEW THING
WE need to be hearing God-
There’s LOGOS- "word" RHEMA-
LOGOS- IS WRITTEN WORD
RHEMA- "word" God’s ever present word
You can sit in church and READ THE BIBLE-
DOESN”T PRODUCE FAITH
IF YOU WANT LOGOS TO CHANGE YOUR LIFE
You have to mix the HOLY SPIRIT with it-
THEN LOGOS- WILL BECOME RHEMA
“FAITH COMES BY HEARING….”WORD OF GOD”- RHEMA
You can buy the BIBLE On tape- never get faith
GUYS ON TV- never get life
When the word becomes alive- that’s when we get it-
PETER- HAD RHEAMA- When he walked on the water
11 had logos-
Don’t throw you pills down toilet with logos- “by his stripes”
If God tells you to throw them down the toilet- AND IT”S RHEMA- For God’s sake- throw them away
God may tell you to tear up insurance- “if you were a man of God u would too"
I DIDN”T GET THE CALL- YOU DID
God tells preacher how to GROW- THEY WRITE a BOOK- To tell you how to do it- That was their Rhema not yours
“received the word”- LIVING WORD- RHEMA- Their preaching
“Searched the scriptures”- LOGOS- to make sure it lines up
What hinders us? FORMER THINGS- We have to Forget the former things
That makes the religious people like you-
"We’re tearing everything DOWN!"- Lose a job real quick

I’m not being hard on the church-
“lot of good people in the church”
I know- Edible food in dumpster
I’m not talking about people- talking about
RULES, SYSTEM, REQUIREMENTS
I want to be Jeremiah- Knock down walls and barriers-

Almost missed his healing- He though he knew how it was going to GO
“THAT WASN’T GOD”- how do you know
God said, “I have visited you O Israel”- Got a baby- All they saw was a hippie with a complex
They couldn’t believe Jesus was God- Not what they thot he would look like
What’s God saying- The old is GONE- “JOSH I’m Doing a new thing”
They marching around- Joshua’s a cult leader- false- I wish we had Moses back
7th time- he stopped- everybody’s looking at him-
SHOUT- and they took the city
AND GOD NEVER DID IT LIKE THAT AGAIN
I don’t always like the will of God- BUT I LOVE THE PRESCENCE OF GOD
God wants us to do a new thing- He never looks, sounds… like we think
