1. God Picks from the Back of the Line- VS 7

We live in a world so overrun with pretty people

Jesse is asked to bring ALL HIS SONS

Doesn’t even INVITE DAVID

Some say David wasn’t invited...ILLEGITIMATE

Psalm 51:5 Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity,And in sin my mother conceived me.

If he was...EVEN COOLER

God doesn’t care...Who You’ve been...Where you’ve been...What you’ve done...

He cares about...WHO YOU ARE...WHERE YOU ARE GOING....WHAT YOU GOING TO DO

God uses ORDINARY PEOPLE....

Even Jesus was just an ordinary guy:

Isaiah 53: 2 He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him. NIV

God said the last will be first...first will be last

1 Corinthians 1: 26 For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. 27 But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; 28 and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, 29 that no flesh should glory in His presence. 30 But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption— 31 that, as it is written, “He who glories, let him glory in the LORD.”

2. God is waiting on you- VS 11

I know Christians Praying...they’ll say,

“I’M JUST WAITING ON THE LORD!”

HAS IT EVER DAWNED ON YOU...

MAYBE GOD’S WAITING ON YOU!!!..You’re reading, praying, fasting, crying.... Try moving

Christianity is not about...GETTING BY

NOT ABOUT WAITING ON THE RAPTURE

Be ready to do whatever he asks.... PETER/ JEWS.....PAUL/ GENTILES

Old Covenant...Brought Death

New Covenant...Brought Life

Salvation is passing from DEATH to LIFE

YOU CAN’T LIVE THE CHRISTIAN LIFE...ONLY JESUS CAN...IN YOU

Yeah Christ came to Get You out of Hell and into Heaven

He also came to himself out of Heaven and into YOU

You were once dead...NOW YOU ARE ALIVE IN CHRIST

Be who God has called you to be!!! BE ALIVE

He’s waiting on you

3. God knows where you are-

They didn’t where David was for sure...BUT GOD DID

Rahab- 2 Bit hooker...Saved the Israelites and her family...GOD KNEW

Noah- Average Guy...Became a SHIP BUILDER

Timothy- Mom was a Jew, Dad was Greek...Halfbreed...GOD KNEW

Esther- Beauty Queen who stepped up one day...Saved the Jewish race...God knew

Francis was born in New York on March 24, 1820. In May of 1820, when she was six weeks old, she caught a cold, and her eyes became slightly inflamed. The regular physician in Putnam County, New York, was out of town, and a man posing as a doctor gave her the wrong treatment. Within days, her eyesight was destroyed. Francis became blind for life. A few months later, her dad became ill and died. Her mom, widowed at 21, hired herself out as a maid while Grandmother took care of her. Before she was ten years old, she had memorized most of the New Testament and more than five books of the Old Testament. She got the opportunity to attend the New York Institute for the Blind. Fanny Crosby went on to write some of the biggest hymns ever: To God be the Glory, I am thine O Lord, Pass me not, Rescue the perishing.

Other people may have looked over Fanny, BUT KNEW WHERE SHE WAS

Darlene Zschech was a 19 yr old girl working in mail room at a church for 3 years. The church began to suffer, the man who ran the music dept. left and everyone was sure the church would sink without him. They ask to take over the music...encouraged her to do her own music. The first song she ever taught the praise band was a little song she had written called, SHOUT TO THE LORD. She gone on to write: All things are possible, Worthy is the Lamb, and hundreds of other HUGE worship songs. She is now the worship leader of HILLSONG church in Australia, with over 18,000 people every Sunday.

I’m sure sitting in that Mail Room she had thought God had forgotten her... GOD KNEW
