We have this Treasure in jars of Clay!
REV 12:11 “They overcame him
by the blood of the Lamb
and by the word of their testimony;
they did not love their lives so much
as to shrink from death.”
Y’know, if we don’t recognize that we are in a spiritual war, we will be enslaved by all kinds of things. Paul said we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers…Satan wants to steal our testimony!
We are living in a day when people want to deny the real cause of anything and everything. When it suits people they blame God for everything that’s going wrong, and when it’s convenient tell you that he doesn’t exist. They end up blaming the one who, according to them, doesn’t exist
Story.
A man was arraigned for murder in Los Angeles about 70 years ago. The case against him looked pretty good, but his lawyer thought of an ingenious ploy:
In his summing up speech, he said: “Ladies and Gentlemen of the jury, you must find my client not guilty of murder if there is the slightest doubt in your minds that he is the murderer. And now I have one final witness. The true murderer is about to walk through the door.”
All eyes swung towards the door but no one came in.
“You see” the lawyer continued: “there is doubt in your minds about my client’s guilt, otherwise you would not have looked towards the door.”
The jury retired to deliberate and came back after an hour with a “Guilty” verdict. The lawyer was beside himself.
Before the judge could pass sentence, he sprang up and said “But I proved beyond doubt - that you had a doubt about my client’s guilt.”
A shrewd old man in the jury stood up and replied:
“As everyone looked towards the door, I watched your client’s eyes. He didn’t look towards the door because he knew no one was coming through. Why? Because he was the guilty one.”

People make excuses for sin, and they refuse to acknowledge that their sin – personal sin – is a part of the problem! They don’t want to see the results of what is going on in our world or even in our own lives as the works of SIN, FLESH AND THE DEVIL.
In 1951 Professor James S. Stewart was a key speaker at Yale University and As he preached on the cross he said, ‘I fear that as Darwin banished the Creator God, Freud will see to it that we replace spiritual warfare with phobias an with psychological jargon.’
Billions of pounds are spent every year world wide on ‘anti-depressants’. We take pills to help us go to sleep at night, pills to wake us up in the morning and we take a pill to help us get through the day, and that’s some Christians! We need to examine whether the source of our problem is our arch enemy – Satan!
Don’t let Satan steal your testimony, for if he does, he’ll rob you of your joy and leave you without any hope or strength!
Colossians 2:13,14 tells us, "When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the written code with its regulations that was against us and that stood opposed to us, HE TOOK IT AWAY! Nailing it to the cross!"
(1) We read in Luke 10:17-20, “The seventy-two returned with joy and said, "Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name." 18 He replied, "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. 19 I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. 20 However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven."
If he starts to rob you of anything in your life, tell him to get his filthy hands off! You belong to the Lord Jesus Christ, and he has already won the victory!
IF THE DEVIL REMINDS YOU OF YOUR PAST, REMIND HIM OF HIS FUTURE!
(2) Paul said in 2 Corinthians 11:3,14 that Satan deceives us through subtlety and that he appears as an ANGEL OF LIGHT, deceiving, and lying with half truths – the most deadly of all and easiest to swallow.
Do you see what the devil does? He tries to bribe us into compromise.
Satan wants you to live at such an impoverished level as a Christian, that the joy of the Lord is absent, and therefore your strength has gone! How many saints here this evening feel defeated? Then look up, and see Jesus with the keys of death and hades – he has won the victory!
