A message that highlights four obstacles we need to overcome to progress in life.

Introduction

Gates play a significant role in both the natural and spiritual realms. Just as physical gates provide security and protection, spiritual gates are used by God and the enemy to secure and fortify our lives. While God uses gates to release blessings and goodness, the enemy uses gates to introduce sin, problems, and afflictions into our lives. In order to move forward in life, we must possess and bring down the gates of the enemy that hinder our progress.

Ancient or Everlasting Gates (Psalm 24:7-10)

Ancient gates are longstanding problems and issues that have plagued families, communities, and nations for generations. These generational curses can manifest as health, financial, or marital challenges that persist throughout the family line. However, through Christ Jesus, we have the power to overcome these ancient gates. By commanding them to give way and inviting the King of glory into our lives, we can break free from these longstanding problems.

Gates of Bronze (Psalm 107:15-16)

Gates of bronze are strong barriers that hinder our progress and keep us stagnant. They can be erected around our spiritual life, ministry, business, career, or education. To break free from these gates of stagnation, we need God to go before us and cut down the bars of iron that resist our progress. By praying for God's presence to go before us and command these gates to be shattered, we can experience all-round progress in our lives.

Prison Gates (Acts 5:17-20, Acts 12:1-10)

The enemy uses prison gates to lock up our destinies, ministries, virtues, blessings, and testimonies. These gates aim to frustrate and hinder the good things that God has planned for us. However, just as God sent His angel of deliverance to free the apostles from prison, we can pray for God's intervention to break us free from these prison gates. By commanding the angel of deliverance to release us from every prison where our blessings are locked up, we can experience freedom and breakthrough.

Gates of Death (Psalm 9:13, Isaiah 38:10, Psalm 107:18-20, Job 38:17)

The gates of death seek to cut short our lives and rob us of the fullness of our years. These gates introduce untimely death and prevent us from enjoying the fruit of our labor. However, by pulling down and destroying these gates, we can declare that our lives will not be cut short. We can pray for God's protection and ask Him to be a refuge and fortress, surrounding us with His glory and shielding us from ruin and destruction.

Gate of Destruction (Matthew 7:13)

The gate of destruction leads to the downfall of our ministries, businesses, careers, and marriages. It introduces distractions and temptations that can derail us from God's path. To avoid falling into this gate, we must pray for God to destroy every gate of destruction that seeks to distract and derail us. We should also ask God to ground us in His Word and deliver us from false teachings and enticements.

Gates of Hell (Matthew 16:18)

The gates of hell are specifically targeted against the church of God. They introduce division, disunity, and opposition to hinder the growth and progress of the church. To overcome these gates, we must pray for God to frustrate every gate of hell that brings division and disunity into the church. We should also ask God to take full charge and control of the affairs of the church, ensuring that everything is done by His leading and not in the flesh.

Conclusion

In order to overcome the gates of the enemy, we must rely on the power and authority we have in Christ Jesus. By praying and commanding these gates to be destroyed, we can experience breakthrough, progress, and freedom in our lives. Let us invite the King of glory into our situations, trusting that His presence will shatter every gate that hinders us. As we walk in righteousness and unity, God will open the gates of blessings and testimonies, leading us to a life of victory and abundance.
