Over Our Future

Youth Group Plan: Over Our Future (Matthew 6:25-34)

Youth Sermon: Over Our Future

Introduction

Today, we're going to talk about something that I know a lot of us struggle with - worrying about our future. We worry about school, friends, family, and what we're going to do with our lives. But guess what? Jesus has something to say about that in Matthew 6:25-34. Let's dive in and see what He has to say.

Jesus tells us not to worry about our lives because God takes care of even the birds in the sky. If He takes care of them, He'll definitely take care of us! We're worth so much more to Him than birds.

Seek God's Kingdom First

Instead of worrying about all the things we want or need, Jesus tells us to seek God's kingdom first. When we put God first in our lives, everything else will fall into place. So, focus on your relationship with God and trust that He'll take care of the rest.

We only have a limited amount of time in our lives, so it's important to use it wisely. Instead of wasting time worrying about things we can't control, let's focus on growing closer to God and helping others.

The Weight of Worry

Now, let's go back to our backpack object lesson. As we talked about worry, I kept adding more and more items to this backpack. It's getting pretty heavy, right? This is what worry does to us - it weighs us down and makes it hard to move forward. But when we trust God with our future, we can let go of that weight and live freely.

Trusting God with Our Future

So, what can we do to trust God with our future? Here are a few ideas:

- Pray about your worries and ask God to help you trust Him.

- Read the Bible and learn more about God's promises for your life.

- Surround yourself with friends who encourage you and remind you of God's love.

Closing Prayer

God, thank You for caring about our future and for always being there for us. Help us to trust You with our lives and to seek Your kingdom first. Teach us to use our time wisely and to focus on what really matters. In Jesus' name, Amen.
