TEXT: 1 Thessalonians 1:8-10

Jonah 3:2-4-5, Rom 15:20-21

God said unto Jonah, Arise, go, and Preach. The great commission starts with those three words. Going is an important aspect of the great

commission, you don't sit at a place and be waiting for sinners to come to you.

You go where they are on the street, in the highway, in the hedges, anywhere you can find them. You go preach the gospel unto them. Go, many people expect the Lord to work miracles through them. The truth is however the miracle will not come until we go forth with the gospel. The great commission is the center of our activities.

Then will the church be in the center of the will of God. (This is called Evangelistic outreach)

1. The context of the Evangelistic message

Jonah 3:2-4, I Cor1:23-24, John 3:16, Rom 10:9-10, Eph 2:1-10

The message we present should be simple enough as to make our audience understand what

salvation is all about and come to the Lord for it. What is the context of the evangelistic message? How should we preach to sinners? The New Testament gives us a clear answer. We preach Christ unto the sinners. We preach that past

of Christ's mission, ministry, message that relates to the forgiveness of their sin and salvation through faith in his atoning blood.

2. Salvation through the Evangelistic message

Romans 8:1-2 Acts 8:5,12,35-39 17:1-4 1 Thess1:5,9 II Cor 5:17

The goal of preaching is to see the people come to the Lord, to see them turn away from sin

and turn to the savior. It is to make them turn away from their darkness and helplessness and turn unto Christ, the Light of the world and the hope of redemption. Christ comes to live in our hearts, changing us in-word by His very presence and power.

3. Reward for Effective Evangelism - I Cor 15:58, Matt 25:23 Eph 6:8 Dan 12:3, III Jn 4,

The rewards for Christians who obey the command of God are many.

1. Converts will be won to the Lord Acts 8:4

2. They have the peace of God and hope of spending eternity in the kingdom of

God John 3:17.

3. There will be joy in the presence of the Angels in heaven and the kingdom of

God will be enlarged Lk 15:10

4. Righteousness will exalt the nation Prov 14:34

5. The soul winner will receive many crowns in heaven Prov 11:30, Rev 5:4
