In teaching the people of God the way a Christian should walk before the Lord we must emphasis our relationship with the Lord. In this outline I am showing some of the relationships we have with the Lord

I find the great thing in this in our daily walk with Him. Walking with the Lord is not always peaches and cream. Nor are there only roses, remember roses have thorns. However, in our walk with Him, He is always there. Wendell Holmes once said. The world is not so much where we stand, as in what direction we are moving: To reach the port of heaven, we must sail sometimes with the wind and sometimes against it--but we must sail, and not drift, nor lie at anchor.

Our Relationship with God in our Christian Walk.

I. God wants us to walk with Him as His Children.

(John 1:12 KJV) But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

A. Family of God is the position call has called us to have in our lives.

B. As a family member, He will give us direction.

(Rom 8:14 KJV) For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

C. The world is looking for an answer and it must come through God’s children.

D. As His children, the best is yet to come in our relationship with the Lord.

(1 John 3:1 KJV) Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.

(1 John 3:2 KJV) Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

II. In the Christian Walk we should also be willing to be a Servant.

(Mat 10:24 KJV) The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord.

A. Being a servant brings greatness.

(Mat 20:27 KJV) And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant:

1. Faithfulness is ’greatest with God’.

a. One day while I was praying, I asked the Lord to use me in a great way for His Glory. He spoke to my heart and said "Greatness with the Lord is not how big? How wonderful? How many? His measuring stick is ’FAITHFULNESS’!

On that last day when we stand before Him, He will ask only how faithful we were with what He gave us to do.

Mat 25:21 KJV) His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

III. In our Christian walk we should be a good Steward

(Titus 1:7 KJV) For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not self-willed, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre;

IV. In our Walk with the Lord we should try to be a Soul winner.

A. Soul winning is sign of wisdom.

(Prov 11:30 KJV) The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.

B. God loves all souls and wants them to be saved. We should also love everyone.

(Ezek 18:4 KJV) Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.

1. Jesus is the Shepherd and Bishop of our souls.

(1 Pet 2:25 KJV) For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.

a. He wants all to be saved.

V. In the Christian walk, we must also be a soldier of Jesus Christ.

(2 Tim 2:3 KJV) Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.

(2 Tim 2:4 KJV) No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.

A. We are in a battle and need the whole armor of God.

(Eph 6:10 KJV) Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

(Eph 6:11 KJV) Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

(Eph 6:12 KJV) For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
