Psalm 121

1. The Source Of Our Protection

1 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.

(a) David’s Resolution

David’s Determination – I Will

David’s Direction - lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.

(b) David’s Revelation - 2 My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.

The Extending Of His Strength - My help cometh from the LORD,

The Example Of His Strength - which made heaven and earth.

(c) David’s Resignation - 3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved:

Psalm 4:8 I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.

2. The Surety Of Our Protection

(a) The Lord will not be hindered by Weariness - 3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.

He Is Constantly Alert To Our Peril - 3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved

He Is Constantly Aware Of Our Path - he that keepeth thee will not slumber.

(b) The Lord will not be hindered by Weakness - 4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.

God’s Protection will not be hindered by Slumber

God’s Protection will not be hindered by Sleep

(c) The Lord will not be hindered by Waywardness He will not suffer thy foot to be moved

Psalm 73:24 Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.

3. The Scope Of Our Protection – 5 The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand. 6 The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.

(a) He keeps us every Day

He keeps us in the heat of the day

He keeps us in the hardship of the night

(b) He keeps us in every Direction - 7 The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. 8 The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

In Dangerous Directions - 7 The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil

In Diverse Directions - 8 The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in

Ie. the beginning and completing of every project

(c) He keeps us in every Detail - 7 The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil

Be not dismayed whate'er betide, God will take care of you!

Beneath His wings of love abide, God will take care of you!

God will take care of you, Through every day o'er all the way;

He will take care of you; God will take care of you!

Through days of toil when heart doth fail, God will take care of you!

When dangers fierce your path assail, God will take care of you!

All you may need He will provide, God will take care of you!

Trust Him, and you will be satisfied, God will take care of you!

Lonely and sad, from friends apart, God will take care of you!

He will give peace to your aching heart, God will take care of you!

No matter what may be the test, God will take care of you!

Lean, weary one, upon His breast, God will take care of you!
