3. WE HAVE HOPE FOR THE SEASON (V.2)
“By whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.”
The text reasonably tells us that “By whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand,” This is a continuation from the previous text that reminds us of our justification by faith through our Lord Jesus Christ. But the text continues to tell us that through Jesus, He is the one that give us access by faith or favor with God that we can walk in the peace of God. As we are preaching from the faith series, lately I’ve noticed the change in many of you, that your misguided faith is now directed toward God. But that is not in all cases. Some are still putting their faith in what people can and will do. You’ll never find hope in what people will do. I’m praying that the Lord will perform a miracle right before our eyes, simply to show us that He can do all things. One of the problems we the people of God have is that many of us cut the power of God short. We have to learn that as the scriptures allows, we can do all things through Christ who strengthen us. And if the bible said it, and we believe that the bible is the Word of God, then we can have peace in knowing that I can do all things because my strength comes from Jesus who is the Christ. So in knowing this you have this hope and you can rejoice in that hope that can get you through your season.
CONCLUSION
But that is not all, verse three tells us, not only will we have justification by faith that brings us the peace of God through Jesus Christ, and not only will we have continual access by faith to permanently walk in the favor of God and rejoice in the hope of glory.
And not only will we rejoice in the hope of glory, but we can rejoice in tribulation as well. Now you might be saying how can I find glory in tribulation. Well it is just like a well trained athlete. In order to compete, you have to put your body through a battery of hard exercises, the harder you work the better the result, so in order to be the best, you have to put your body through tribulation. Likewise, in order to be proficient in your Christian walk sometime you have to go through hard times. Because the following verses say knowing that tribulation worketh patience; and patience, experience; and experience, hope; So if you want hope for the season, you’ll need to stand up on your feet, roll up you sleeves and say to yourself my tribulation is going to give me patience; my patience will give me experience; and my experience is going to give me hope.
Hope to make it,
Hope for tomorrow,
Hope to see Jesus,
Hope to conquer all of my fears.
