Then you will say, ‘But we ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets.’

And he will reply, ‘I tell you, I don’t know you or where you come from. Get away from me, all you who do evil.’

Our salvation came by grace thru faith not of works (eating and drinking)

B. Audience: Theophilus (Greek means friend of GOD, a Christian)

C. Purpose: To give a connected and orderly narrative of the life of CHRIST as seen by eyewitnesses

VIII. MAIN BODY:

A. Evil Workers mentions eating

a. Eaten came from Greek word "fago" which is a verb meaning to eat

1. The Word of GOD benefits us if we are a doer and not just a listener. - the problem with evil workers is they do eat without faith.

But if you have doubts about whether or not you should eat something, you are sinning if you go ahead and do it. For you are not following your convictions. If you do anything you believe is not right, you are sinning.

2. Eating or not will not make us dirty.

Everything is pure to those whose hearts are pure. But nothing is pure to those who are corrupt and unbelieving, because their minds and consciences are corrupted.

3. Without faith it's impossible to please GOD.

And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.

B. Evil workers mentions drinking

1. Drunk or drinking came from Greek word: "pino-pio-poo" meaning to drink (verb)

2. Because food and drink make us worry. (Matthew 6:25)

4. The people are eating perishable food and drink

5. Eternal life is our priority here on earth not food and drink (John 6:26-27)

C. The LORD will declare no knowledge of them.

1. knowledge came from Greek word "eido" meaning to perceive, to understand, to be sure

The LORD JESUS CHRIST can't perceive, understand and not sure of us.

The LORD JESUS CHRIST offered us grace and truth but instead we have chosen to work for it, therefore not of grace but of works.

The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His Glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
