Summary: GOD IS NOT REACTIVE BUT PROACTIVE!

PROACTIVE GOD

Matthew 2:20 and said, “Get up, take the child and his mother and go to the land of Israel, for those who were trying to take the child’s life are dead.”

GOD IS NOT REACTIVE BUT PROACTIVE!

When Joseph took Mary into his home as his wife, he would not have envisioned the dangers that would follow his obedience to God’s Word. As Joseph sat mesmerized by the gifts brought by the three wise men of gold, incense and myrrh, here comes an angel before him (v 13) and told him to get up and leave immediately and escape to Egypt. Joseph was asked to stay there until further orders because Herod was going to search for the child to kill him. “When the enemy is plotting to kill and destroy you, God is working and orchestrating things in order to save and establish you!” Say Amen.

“The LORD will cause you to be defeated before your enemies. You will come at them from one direction but flee from them in seven, and you will become a thing of horror to all the kingdoms on earth.” Deuteronomy 28:25. Finally another angel showed up in Joseph’s dream after the death of king Herod and told him “Get up, take the child and his mother and go to the land of Israel, for those who were trying to take the child’s life are dead.” The word ‘those’ tells us that besides Herod, there were others who wanted to kill baby Jesus too; nonetheless, they were all dead! DEAD. God is our Protector and our Defender! Psalm 91 says: He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust." Amen. Hallelujah!!! Perfect obedience to His plans garners protection for you!

Testimony: After we relocated our ministry and family to Hyderabad, we did not anticipate or predict that we would face danger for spreading the Gospel. Not once, but we faced severe persecutions, sufferings and attacks for all our projects: Gospel sharing, Abide School and Abide Angel Home. I would be glad if you can share this devotion with people in the ministry, so that they can be encouraged and empowered. While we were conducting 3 days camp meeting, a huge group of people gathered in front of our church on the last day, along with ‘police and political leaders’ of that area under the leadership of one woman who stayed just opposite our church. While others stood near the gate, one particular lady walked into the church, came near the pulpit where I was preaching, pointed finger at me and asked me to stop. The woman who organized the meeting died two years later of brain tumor, the woman who came and threatened me left that area after speaking with me nicely. Locals threw stones at our Abide School and Angel Home; nevertheless, later they became our donars. We are exactly in the same location where earlier police and political leaders walked into our church, it has been 14 years but we are growing and multiplying.
