To encourage believers to acknowledge God's majesty, express gratitude for His blessings, and seek His guidance in all aspects of life.
Good morning, Church! Today, we're going to look at 1 Chronicles 16: 7-14. Today's sermon will cover acknowledging, expressing gratitude, and seeking guidance from the Almighty. Max Lucado once said, "A man who wants to lead the orchestra must turn his back on the crowd."
In the scripture we read, David appointed Asaph and his associates to give praise to the Lord. David recognized that all the victories, all the blessings, and all the good things that had come his way were not because of his own strength or wisdom, but because of God's grace and mercy. He acknowledged that it was God who had brought him from being a shepherd boy to being the king of Israel.
Acknowledging the Almighty also means recognizing His omnipotence. God is all-powerful. There is nothing too hard for Him. He is the One who parted the Red Sea, who brought down the walls of Jericho, who shut the mouths of lions, and who raised Jesus from the dead. When we acknowledge God's omnipotence, we are reminded that there is no situation too difficult, no problem too big, and no circumstance too challenging for Him to handle.
Furthermore, acknowledging the Almighty means recognizing His omniscience. God is all-knowing. He knows the end from the beginning. He knows our thoughts before we think them, our words before we speak them, and our actions before we take them. When we acknowledge God's omniscience, we are reminded that He has a plan for our lives, a plan to prosper us and not to harm us, a plan to give us hope and a future.
Moreover, acknowledging the Almighty means recognizing His omnipresence. God is everywhere. There is no place where He is not. He is with us in the valley, on the mountaintop, in the storm, and in the calm. When we acknowledge God's omnipresence, we are reminded that we are never alone, that He is always with us, and that He will never leave us nor forsake us.
Acknowledging the Almighty also means recognizing His holiness. God is holy. He is pure, righteous, and perfect. He is separate from sin and evil. When we acknowledge God's holiness, we are reminded of our own sinfulness and our need for His forgiveness and grace.
Finally, acknowledging the Almighty means recognizing His love. God is love. He loves us with an everlasting love. He demonstrated His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. When we acknowledge God's love, we are reminded of His great sacrifice and our great worth in His eyes.
Gratitude is a posture of the heart that recognizes God's goodness in all circumstances, whether in times of joy or in seasons of hardship ... View this full PRO sermon free with PRO
