Only If You Obey!

Only if you obey…….

Deuteronomy 30:15 "See, I have set before you today life and good, death and evil.”

Recently a father of four children, brought his grown up children to join in our Abide School because they had no money to pay school fees; he pleaded me to accept his children. Since we now had to allot classes to them, we just gave them a small test on the basics pertaining to each class; I tell you, I was just flummoxed to find his children of the age group between 7 to 12 not able to write the basic alphabets! When the teacher announced to the father the pathetic state of his children, I can still remember the shock , and ‘are you sure?’ kind of confusion on his face! Since the father and mother were uneducated, they did not know the academic state of the kids and neither had they paid attention to their welfare! This is not an isolated case, I see such families almost every day!

Friend, the above fact also applies to the spiritual status of people, when people do not read the Bible and know the Kingdom rules, they live reckless and haphazard lives until the day of head-on collision! Yes, when the marriage hits rock-bottom and every area of the relationship seems ‘dead’, when the future and career looks scary and blurred, when there has been no breakthrough, when sickness and hospital bills have swallowed peace and happiness; they are shaken! Why not pause and consider that may be a curse is operating in your life because of ‘DISOBEDIENCE TO GOD!’ Hear me out today!

Let me tell you, the situation would never change until you rectify your life!

I had been counselling a Christian family to shift their house, which has got idols everywhere, one engraved on the main door; they would never argue, never get offended, would take every bit of advice but never obey. Every area of their life is crumbling and collapsing; yet, they have never come to their senses to obey and enjoy the abundance of God! When catastrophe comes on them, they would look astounded like the father I spoke of in the first paragraph! Hopelessness, fruitlessness and desperateness are the end results of negligence, slackness and carelessness! What you sow is what you reap! Are you listening?

Has my umpteen devotions on EMI and loans changed your lifestyle and made you cut those unnecessary plastic cards ( I’m talking of that so called Credit cards that you hold so valuably in your wallets) I’m waiting to hear such testimonies! Tell me how you have removed the adulterous relationships from your life, tell me how you have stopped watching porn stuff, tell me how you have changed inside and out, tell me how your relationship with others has improved. I want such changes, not empty noises! Live a holy life which is possible through Christ! Amen. Grow up friends!

Deuteronomy 30:16”If you obey the commandments of the LORD your God that I command you today, by loving the LORD your God, by walking in his ways, and by keeping his commandments and his statutes and his rules, then you shall live and multiply, and the LORD your God will bless you in the land that you are entering to take possession of it.”

Observe the word ‘IF’! You get the blessings only if you obey!
