Summary: Jesus as the only way
INTRODUCTION:
Is there more than one way which can lead to eternal life? Many believe so, including 57% within the evangelical church! What did Jesus and His apostles say about the path to salvation, the way to eternal life?
THERE IS ONLY ONE PATH TO SALVATION
1. According to Jesus (Matthew 7:13-14, John 8:24, John 14:6)
2. According to the apostles (Acts 4:12, 1 John 2:23, 2 Thessalonians 1:7-8)
IF THERE ARE SEVERAL PATHS THEN...
1. Jesus lied.
2. His apostles lied.
3. Jesus would have died in vain.
4. The apostles suffering and deaths were not necessary.
If we profess to be Christians, then we must believe that there is only one path to salvation, and that is through Jesus! Let's review the gospel plan of salvation, the path to salvation.
THE WAY...
1. Hear the good news (Romans 10:17, Acts 10:42)
2. Believe in Jesus (John 3:16, 1 John 4:9, Ephesians 1:7)
3. Repent of sins (Acts 17:30, Luke 13:3)
4. Confess Christ as Lord (Matthew 10:32, Romans 10:9)
5. Be baptized into Christ (Mark 16:15, Acts 2:38)
6. Remain faithful to Christ (Matthew 28:19-20, Luke 6:40)
TAKEAWAY
A doctrine that teaches there are several ways is comfortable; Jesus didn't call us to be comfortable...he said I am the way...
