"The Lord took hold of me, and I was carried away by the Spirit of the Lord to a valley filled with bones. 2 He led me around among the old, dry bones that covered the valley floor. They were scattered everywhere across the ground. 3 Then he asked me, "Son of man, can these bones become living people again?"

"O Sovereign Lord," I replied, "you alone know the answer to that."

4 Then he said to me, "Speak to these bones and say, ‘Dry bones, listen to the word of the Lord! 5 This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Look! I am going to breathe into you and make you live again! 6 I will put flesh and muscles on you and cover you with skin. I will put breath into you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the Lord.’ "

7 So I spoke these words, just as he told me. Suddenly as I spoke, there was a rattling noise all across the valley. The bones of each body came together and attached themselves as they had been before. 8 Then as I watched, muscles and flesh formed over the bones. Then skin formed to cover their bodies, but they still had no breath in them.

9 Then he said to me, "Speak to the winds and say: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Come, O breath, from the four winds! Breathe into these dead bodies so that they may live again.’ "

10 So I spoke as he commanded me, and the wind entered the bodies, and they began to breathe. They all came to life and stood up on their feet—a great army of them.

One prophetic word from God can transform your life.

One prophetic word from God can put you on track.

One prophetic word from God can set you up for the rest of your life.

One word from God can break the bondage of poverty.

I. The prophetic word comes directly from the throne of God.

* Notice in verse 4, the Lord says to Ezekiel; "Speak to these bones and say, ‘Dry bones, listen to the word of the Lord!

-It was the words of God coming forth not the words of Ezekiel.

-Ezekiel’s job was to proclaim what God had said.

This is why Paul said in *1 Corinthians 14:1ff; "Let love be your highest goal, but also desire the special abilities the Spirit gives, especially the gift of prophecy".

Prophecy doesn’t only speak to us about the future but it gives direction, encouragement and strength.

Verse 3 says; “one who prophesies is helping others grow in the Lord, encouraging and comforting them. 4 A person who speaks in tongues is strengthened personally in the Lord, but one who speaks a word of prophecy strengthens the entire church”.

- A prophetic word from God bring’s strength to the hearers..

- A prophetic word will also let others know that God is present.

*1 Corinthians 14: 24-25; "But if all of you are prophesying, and unbelievers or people who don’t understand these things come into your meeting, they will be convicted of sin, and they will be condemned by what you say. 25 As they listen, their secret thoughts will be laid bare, and they will fall down on their knees and worship God, declaring, "God is really here among you."

II. A prophetic word from God put’s everything together.

- Puts your dry marriage back together again.

- It repairs broken relationships.

- Gives you a new perspective on life. (Your life will not look like a valley of dead bones anymore).

Look at *verse 7-8 in Eze. 27; "So I spoke these words, just as he told me. Suddenly as I spoke, there was a rattling noise all across the valley. The bones of each body came together and attached themselves as they had been before. 8 Then as I watched, muscles and flesh formed over the bones. Then skin formed to cover their bodies, but they still had no breath in them".

III. The prophetic word from God will cause supernatural things to happen.

Verse 9-10; "Then he said to me, "Speak to the winds and say: ‘this is what the Sovereign Lord says: Come, O breath, from the four winds! Breathe into these dead bodies so that they may live again.’ "

"So I spoke as he commanded me, and the wind entered the bodies, and they began to breathe. They all came to life and stood up on their feet—a great army of them".

-If we are indeed part of God’s kingdom then supernatural manifestations should be a norm.

Jesus said in Mark 16:17-18; "These signs will accompany those who believe: They will cast out demons in my name, and they will speak new languages. 18 They will be able to handle snakes with safety, and if they drink anything poisonous, it won’t hurt them. They will be able to place their hands on the sick and heal them.".
