INTRODUCTION:

Faith is the key that unlocks divine intervention. Throughout Scripture, God has demonstrated His power through individuals whose faith moved Him to act on behalf of many. In Joshua 10, one man’s faith and prayer caused the sun to stand still and changed the course of history for an entire nation.

This story is a timeless reminder that God looks for men and women who will believe Him against all odds. The outcome of a nation can hinge on the faith of one righteous person who dares to stand in the gap. Faith doesn’t just affect the individual—it shifts the destiny of families, communities, and nations.

When faith is alive, heaven responds. God honours those who take Him at His Word, even when circumstances seem impossible. The faith of one person can become the channel through which God releases deliverance and victory to many others.

1. FAITH POSITIONS YOU FOR DIVINE PARTNERSHIP

Faith is the connecting force that links the human with the divine. When you walk by faith, God becomes your ally in battle, and no power can prevail against you.

a) Faith invites divine involvement (Hebrews 11:6)

Faith pleases God and draws His presence into the affairs of men. Without faith, divine partnership is impossible.

b) Faith gives access to divine strength (Isaiah 40:31)

Those who trust in God are empowered to rise above human limitations and experience supernatural help.

c) Faith activates divine strategies (Proverbs 3:5-6)

Trusting God opens your mind to His direction and guidance in the midst of challenges.

d) Faith makes you an instrument in God’s hands (Isaiah 59:16)

When God finds a man of faith, He uses him to bring about national deliverance and revival.

Biblical Example: Moses’ faith at the Red Sea invited divine partnership, leading to Israel’s miraculous deliverance from Pharaoh’s army (Exodus 14:13-31).

2. FAITH RELEASES SUPERNATURAL INTERVENTION

When faith rises, heaven responds. God moves on behalf of those who believe in Him, even to the extent of altering natural laws to fulfill His promises.

a) Faith-filled prayers provoke divine action (Mark 11:24)

Prayers offered in faith touch heaven and produce visible results on earth.

b) Faith changes natural laws (Joshua 10:12-14)

Joshua’s faith caused the sun and moon to stand still, proof that faith has authority over creation.

c) Faith releases the forces of heaven (Joshua 10:11)

God sent hailstones against Israel’s enemies because of Joshua’s prayer of faith.

d) Faith commands divine attention (Matthew 17:20)

Even a small measure of genuine faith can move mountains and bring extraordinary results.

Biblical Example: Elijah’s faith stopped the rain for three and a half years and later brought it back through fervent prayer (James 5:17-18).

3. FAITH MAKES YOU A CHANNEL OF NATIONAL DELIVERANCE

Faith is not just a personal virtue; it is a divine weapon that God uses to change the destiny of nations. When one man believes God, entire generations can be delivered.

a) Faith stands in the gap for others (Ezekiel 22:30)

God seeks intercessors whose faith can avert destruction and bring mercy to nations.

b) Faith inspires others to trust God (Joshua 10:25)

Joshua’s faith gave courage to the Israelites to continue the fight and claim their victory.

c) Faith secures national deliverance through prayer (James 5:16)

The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous person has far-reaching impact.

d) Faith subdues kingdoms and establishes righteousness (Hebrews 11:33-34)

Through faith, leaders and believers alike can bring transformation to nations.

Biblical Example: Daniel’s faith in Babylon preserved a nation and brought glory to God when he was delivered from the lions’ den (Daniel 6:16-23).

4. FAITH GIVES YOU VICTORY OVER STRONG ENEMIES

Faith empowers believers to overcome the fiercest opposition. The man of faith does not depend on weapons or numbers but on the Word of God and the power of His Spirit.

a) Faith sees victory before the battle (2 Chronicles 20:20)

Those who believe God’s word enter battle with confidence, knowing that victory is already secured.

b) Faith silences fear and doubt (Isaiah 41:10)

When faith dominates your heart, fear loses its power to control you.

c) Faith provokes divine warfare (Exodus 14:14)

The Lord fights for those who stand firm in faith, making them spectators of His deliverance.

d) Faith turns impossibilities into testimonies (Romans 4:20-21)

Like Abraham, faith holds fast to God’s promise despite overwhelming odds.

Biblical Example: David’s faith conquered Goliath, giving Israel victory and silencing the reproach of the Philistines (1 Samuel 17:45-50).
