Sermons

Summary: The sermons that I have listed are 30 to 40 minute sermons. I have only listed the points and a couple of comments under each point of each sermon to give the preacher a remembrance which the Holy Spirit can lead on and speak through the man of God.

Mark 5:25-27 And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, and had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse, When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. (Mark 5:21-34)

After raising the price of ham and bacon (V13) in the country of the Gadarenes Jesus was prayed to leave so he went down to Decapolis and from there to Jairus’ house to heal his daughter. Here, we see the Lord going through another city with people all around Him who were sick, diseased, and heart-broken. In every city, even today no matter how nice the city looks there are thousands of hurting people in each town needing a touch from the Lord. Since the Lord is not here with us physically, He works through His faithful servants who will make themselves available to help and pray for these hurting folks.

1. Notice the multitudes of people. V: 21, 24

First, notice the multitudes of people pressing against the Savior trying to get as close to Him as possible. In verse 27 it states she heard Jesus was coming through the town so rumor was already going around that Jesus was coming. Today we see many folks going to church, many hearing God's Word, many are close to the preacher, and many read God's Word and still do not have what this woman displayed for us stepping out in faith and laying all her issues before the throne of mercy, and grace. Many of these people in the Book of Mark where right next to Jesus and did not get healed.

2. Notice the three types of people in the crowd. '

Second, notice there where three types of people there in the crowd pressing against the Savior. The first class we see the ones that Jesus healed and they were there with a thanksgiving heart of gratitude. The second class we see were the ones that were sick, and broken-hearted that were hoping they would be healed by Jesus. The third class we see is haters, the ones that were watching and reporting back to their dead religious leaders of tradition, and man-made up rules.

3. Notice the woman. V: 25-26

Third, noticed the woman with the issue of blood that she had to deal with for twelve years. The scripture says she gave all her money away to the physicians and still wasn't healed and I bet she didn't give a dime to Jesus but, He loves her anyway. Many today do the same thing when sickness hits us hard we go to whatever the world has in front of us before we go to God. We need to go to God first and let Him put honest Christian doctors and a good Christian medical staff all around us saturated in prayer lifted up to God the Great Physician. If it's in God's will He will heal you if not He will prepare the saint for their journey home in perfect peace. We must understand that God is more concerned about the soul of the person and which direction it will go after it leaves the body then He is concerned about the flesh. The flesh is going to return to the ground in a few years regardless, but thanks to Jesus He has taken the sting away from death.

4. The great Physician (Jesus). V: 27

Fourth, we see the great Physician Jesus walking about doing good and healing, and saving souls. We see the woman didn't approach Him from the front, she humbly walked up behind Him with faith enough in Jesus to just touch the hem of His garment and was healed by the Master. Again, many were there, but not all had the faith it took to believe in the One who is able to heal all the crowds issues. This woman went to Jesus expecting a blessing, believing in a blessing and that was the difference between the crowd that thronged Jesus without faith and this woman touching Jesus with faith.

5. Notice the confession V: 33

Fifth, we see a sincere confession in verse 33 where she told Jesus all the truth. We should all learn from this woman who the Bible doesn't give us her name, or where she is from, or what her status was, but how she came to Jesus by faith and in truth.

6. Notice there was two blessing. V: 29, 34

Sixth, now we see a double blessing given to this beautiful soul. The first was her healing where the blood stopped immediately, and second we see her soul is saved because of her sincere confession to Jesus. What a Savior, what a mighty God we serve in our Lord Jesus.
