Summary: Do not feel insignificant, small or wormy and curl yourself inside a shell like a snail; look not at the circumstances but meditate the Word that says, ‘One man of you puts to flight a thousand’, and take courage!
One against thousand!
Joshua 23:10 “One man of you puts to flight a thousand, since it is the LORD your God who fights for you, just as he promised you.”
One single man stood boldly against the atrocities towards ImageImagethe black in South Africa and brought about terrific changes. Nelson Mandela’s contribution and dedication to South Africa’s struggle in achieving freedom and equal rights for every South African led to his popularity and respect in South Africa. In the 1950’s, Mandela began working on ending the apartheid. In 1964, he was arrested and imprisoned for trying to overthrow the government and spent 27 years in prison! After his release in 1990, Mandela continued to advocate equality for all South Africans regardless of their ethnic backgrounds. In 1993, Mandela earned the Nobel Peace Prize for his work in improving human rights. In 1994, Nelson Mandela became the first black South African to be elected as president of his country. Nelson Mandela was clear how he wanted to be remembered, “I would like it to be said that, ‘Here lies a man who has done his duty on earth’. That is all.”
Do not feel insignificant, small or wormy and curl yourself inside a shell like a snail; look not at the circumstances but meditate the Word that says, ‘One man of you puts to flight a thousand’, and take courage! The secret of our strength lies in verse 8, read, Joshua 23:8 “but you shall cling to the LORD your God, as you have done to this day.” The key is in clinging to God! Amen. You can do it with God! There is no ground-breaking technology for success other than trusting and walking in His ways for a superfluous life of abundance! Amen. Deuteronomy 3:22 “Do not be afraid of them; the LORD your God himself will fight for you.” We have read enough books on ‘100 secrets to success’ and ‘ 10 steps for victory’, its time you claim victory in the name of Jesus! We have spent wasteful hours gaping at the success stories of others, it’s time you taste the dish! I’m talking of the time spent in theatres and TV. Come off it! Grow up! Roll up your sleeves and start working and praying to taste the dish of success for yourself!
In the year 2009, when we relocated to Hyderabad, everyday I heard about brutal acid attacks on young girls, the flourishing flesh trade in the state broke my heart and the most horrendous part was when the own family sells their daughters for prostitution for a very a paltry amount, this is happening in our villages. I just wanted to do something, and felt a change in their life should start with education! Just during this time, I broke down and wept on the stage while preaching with great burden. The most poignant moment of my life was when I saw little, little children holding huge bags on their backs and pick rags, young teen boys and girls, pregnant woman and young mothers with their kids clinging to them, riding a cycle with huge loads of garbage. Whenever and wherever I see them, I would stop and talk to them and lure them to attend school, they would give a vague look and vanish. When the thought of Orphanage and Free School birthed in my heart, I quickly started clinging on to people connected with school and who are in influential positions. I thought they would help me in the procedures – what can I as a single person do???? None helped me, though. Devastated I groped in the dark! God allowed me to struggle and walk in the path of loneliness in order to mold me. Many teens today have thrown off their big garbage bags and are now wearing the school bag! Young mothers who were carrying their kids in the garbage tricycle are now dropping them in our Home. With God nothing is impossible! You can do it! It starts with a fierce burden, passion and determination!
Quote of Rev Rick warren : Stop saying, “God, I’ve got these great plans, if you’ll just come over here and bless them.” Success will come when you pray, “God, include me in your plans because I know nothing you do flops.”
