1. Obey in day to day life
Jesus was obedient to his earthly parents(Lk2:51) as well as heavenly father till death, till the death on the Cross (Phil. 2:8). He also learned the obedience by suffering(Heb. 5:8), and became perfect in life(Heb 5:9).
Esther obeyed Mordecai while she was child, while she was adolescence, while she was virgin, while she was queen(Es 2:20). She obeyed her warden Mordecai in everything(Es. 2:8, and 15) Obey your Pastors, they are stewards of your soul. They are accountable to God(Heb.13:17). Don’t walk according to your lust but obey(I Pet. 1:14).
Rechabites obeyed very strictly their father’s voice and commands (Jer. 35:6-10). Obedience is justice, righteousness ( Eph 6:1).
2. Obey in Selecting Life Partner(Gen 28:6-7)
Jacob obeyed his parents in selecting his life partner. There is problem in both the families, arranged and loved marriages. There is no clear cut example to follow. One thing is clear, if there is no Godliness and Holiness, there is no peace in that family. Marriages have to be conducted and lived according to the word of God.
3. Disobedience leads to Punishment (Dt. 21:18-21).
The child – stubborn, rebellious, not obedience, never heed them while discipline them(v.18), then glutton and drunkard(v.20) hence, he is evil(v.21). Never despise your parents ( Pr. 30:17) That leads to death and decay. Late obedience is equivalent to disobedience. Disobedience was seriously viewed by God. First it is a curse, secondly it leads to capital punishment. Disobedience was debased thing(Rm.1:28-32)
