Summary: Here we see examples of God's instructions, people obeying and the rewards that follow

“So if you faithfully obey the commands I am giving you today—to love the Lord your God and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul— then I will send rain on your land in its season, both autumn and spring rains, so that you may gather in your grain, new wine and oil. I will provide grass in the fields for your cattle, and you will eat and be satisfied.” Deut. 11:13-15

This short message reveals that God rewards those who obey His commands. See the following:

Command: Get away from here (Elijah) -1 Kg. 17:3;

Obedience: So he went … (vs. 5);

Reward: The ravens brought him bread and meat … (vs. 6)

God can fulfill your needs through even birds (as Jesus brought money from fish) – the places, things you do not expect from.

Command: Arise, go to Zarephath (Elijah) – vs.9

Obedience: So He arose and went … (vs.10)

Reward: “… and she and he and her household ate for many days (vs. 15)

God can fulfill your needs through the people you think cannot afford to help you, if you can obey.

Command: Please bring me water and bread (vs. 10-14);

Obedience: So she went and did according … (vs.15);

Reward: And she ate and her flour was not used up (16)

Just when you think it is all over, obedience can bring you a new life

Command: Cast the net … (Peter) -John 21:6;

Obedience: so they cast … (vs. 6)

Reward: they caught so much (vs. 6)

If you will obey, God can remove frustration and vain toiling from your life.

Brothers and sisters, when we refuse to obey the Lord, life becomes and remains miserable (Deut. 11:16-17)

What motivates people to obey?

LOVE: Jesus said, “if anyone loves me, he will keep my word …” – John 14:23-24

1 John 2:3-4 says, “We know that we have come to know Him if we obey his commands. The man who says, “I know Him,” but does not do what He commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him.”

There are so many types of blessings that would be enjoyed by anyone who obeys the Lord, as He chooses to give, but the best of them all is what Jesus said in here in John 14:23 – that “My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.”

I pray for more grace for you and me to live an obedient life so that the TRINITY will abide with us always.
