Summary: 1 Samuel 15:22 says that Obedience is better than sacrifice. An obedient heart can alone please God. It is also stated in the Word that God is not interested in the hearers of His Word alone but the Doers of His Word.

Obedience is something that pleases the Heart of God. That is what exactly God is seeking from His people. It is also considered better than sacrifice. He is interested in the Doers of His Word. Great and amazing blessings follow an obedient heart. We are gonna look into a few examples from the Word.

God called Abraham in Genesis 12:1 and gave him a mandate. He was instructed to leave his country, his family and his father's house and go to a land which God was about to show him. Now Abraham had no idea how the place looked like. He had no idea whether there were facilities available or not. Abraham was not aware of the situation or the condition of that particular place. Whenever we have to relocate to a particular place we sit and calculate the pros and cons and advantages and disadvantages of that region. Based on the convenience from all sides we make a decision whether to move to that place or not. Abraham had absolutely no idea about the place because God clearly made a mention stating "go to the place which I will show you."

Imagine I am standing on the platform of a Railway Station with my baggages. One train passes through the North and the other to the South. If you ask me where I am traveling and my response is that I have no idea where I am going. I would be called as a fool or someone who is not in a right state of mindset. That was exactly the state of Abraham. But the beauty of the Man of God Abraham was that he was an obedient man. His immediate action was the need of the hour. His response is quite striking. In Genesis 12:4, the Bible says, "so Abraham left."

What made Abraham believe God so blindly? What did Abraham have that he trusted God without hesitation?

Abraham knew the nature of God. He had a personal relationship with God. He understood the heart of God. He had God with him. He had the Word with him. He had the Promise of God with him. God's promises never fail. The Bible also declares that Abraham believed God and it was credited to him as righteousness. He was also called as the Friend of God. He was a man of Faith. People who trust God truly make an impact in their relationship with Him.

Obedience always results in amazing blessings. The Bible states that the Lord blessed Abraham so much that he could have never imagined. Abraham indeed pleased God by his lifestyle.

My Prayer is that we shall be obedient to God irrespective of the price we pay because the result is tremendous.

God bless you abundantly !!!
