INTRODUCTION:
Every act of obedience to God brings us closer to His purpose, power, and plan for our lives. Throughout Scripture, men and women who obeyed God’s voice were lifted into realms of supernatural exploits. Disobedience, on the other hand, brought defeat, delay, and destruction.
Obedience is not partial compliance but total surrender to God’s instructions. It is proof of our faith and love for Him. Jesus Himself said, “If you love me, keep my commandments” (John 14:15). True obedience demonstrates our loyalty to God and our readiness to be used for His glory.
Beloved, if we desire to operate in the dimension of exploits—miracles, breakthroughs, and victories—we must live lives of obedience. Exploits are not reserved for the gifted or privileged but for those who hear and obey God’s voice.
1. OBEDIENCE IS THE KEY TO DIVINE PROMOTION
Obedience moves us from the ordinary to the extraordinary and positions us for God’s blessings.
a) Obedience brings elevation (Deuteronomy 28:1): God promises to set the obedient above all nations.
b) Obedience attracts God’s blessings (Job 36:11): Those who obey enjoy prosperity and long life.
c) Obedience distinguishes a person (Genesis 22:16-18): Abraham’s obedience made him the father of nations.
d) Obedience opens doors of favour (Exodus 19:5): God makes His obedient children a treasured possession.
Biblical Example: Joseph obeyed God and his father’s instructions; despite trials, obedience lifted him from the prison to the palace (Genesis 41:39-41).
2. OBEDIENCE BRINGS DIVINE DIRECTION
Obedience to God’s voice ensures clarity, guidance, and preservation in life’s journey.
a) Obedience gives access to divine guidance (Isaiah 30:21): God leads the obedient on the right path.
b) Obedience prevents mistakes (Proverbs 3:5-6): Trusting and obeying God keeps us from wrong turns.
c) Obedience ensures divine presence (Exodus 33:14): God’s presence follows those who obey His instructions.
d) Obedience produces success (Joshua 1:7-8): Meditating on and obeying God’s Word guarantees prosperity.
Biblical Example: Noah obeyed God’s instruction to build the ark, and his obedience preserved his family from the flood (Genesis 6:22).
3. OBEDIENCE UNLOCKS SUPERNATURAL PROVISION
God’s provisions flow abundantly in the lives of those who obey His Word.
a) Obedience releases miracles (John 2:5): The servants obeyed Jesus, and water turned to wine.
b) Obedience brings abundance (Luke 5:5-6): Peter obeyed Jesus’ instruction and caught a great multitude of fish.
c) Obedience guarantees divine supply (Philippians 4:19): God meets the needs of the obedient.
d) Obedience attracts restoration (Joel 2:25-26): God restores what is lost when His people return in obedience.
Biblical Example: The widow of Zarephath obeyed Elijah’s prophetic instruction, and her household enjoyed supernatural supply during famine (1 Kings 17:13-16).
4. OBEDIENCE SECURES VICTORY IN BATTLES
Obedience is the weapon that ensures triumph in life’s battles.
a) Obedience brings divine intervention (2 Chronicles 20:20): Believing and obeying the Lord leads to victory.
b) Obedience provokes divine strategy (Joshua 6:2-5): The walls of Jericho fell when Israel obeyed God’s unusual instruction.
c) Obedience establishes dominion (Luke 10:19): Authority is manifested by those who walk in obedience.
d) Obedience prevents defeat (1 Samuel 15:22-23): Saul’s disobedience cost him his throne.
Biblical Example: Gideon obeyed God’s instruction to reduce his army, and through obedience, Israel defeated the Midianites (Judges 7:7).
CONCLUSION:
Exploits are not a product of talent, intelligence, or human wisdom, but of obedience to God. Every miracle recorded in Scripture happened when someone obeyed a divine instruction. Disobedience shuts doors, while obedience opens them.
Beloved, if you want to manifest exploits in your life, family, and ministry, cultivate the lifestyle of total obedience. Obey God even when it is not convenient, and you will experience His mighty power working for you and through you.
