NOW IS THE TIME

Ro 13:11 ¶ And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.

Today is the first day of the rest of your life.

Today is the dawn of a new day.

The new life in Christ is like the dawning of a new day.

NOW IS THE TIME TO LET JESUS CHRIST BE LORD OF YOUR LIFE.

Romans 13: 14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ

It seems to be that the old evil deeds of a person’s life that was born again is wrapped about him, believers are to enfold themselves in the lord Jesus,

The outward adorning of the child of God is vastly different of that of a person still walking in darkness.

make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

The believer who thinks they can join up with Christ partly and not whole heatedly is in trouble.

It would be as one dressed in good clean clothes and dirty clothes together.

Jesus must be Lord of all or not at all

Jesus ask “Why call me Lord, Lord, and do not the things that I say?” Luke 6:46

The devil does cause Christians that have no intention to sin to stumble and fall, but they fall toward God’s mercy and forgiveness.

But those who expect to be Christians and plan to go on sinning are already deceived

Romans 13: 12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.

Put on the armour of Light.

Night and day , light and darkness, describe the vast difference with sin and righteousness.

13 Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.

Preacher why should we put on Christ? Why accept Him as Lord?

1. HE IS LORD.

Acts 2: 36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

2. HE HAS A RIGHT TO BE LORD.

Romans 14: 8 For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord’s.

9 For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.

10 But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.

HE IS WORTHY

He is truth, light and love.

He is righteous.

The only way for a believer to be happy is to accept Jesus as Lord.

A backslider can never be truly happy.

Believers who compromise are the most miserable of all people.

They have too much conviction to enjoy the world’s pleasures and are too worldly to experience the joys of a consecrated Christian.

That person wears the north and south uniform. (Shot at from both sides)

A dedicated Christian is a happy person.

Beatitudes describe their attitude.

(happy)

Matt 5:3 ¶ Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.

8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

John 13: 12 So after he had washed their feet, and had taken his garments, and was set down again, he said unto them, Know ye what I have done to you?

13 Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am.

14 If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another’s feet.

15 For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.

16 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.
